If I have never watch boxing...and I judged what was good from what people say and how passionate they are when they say it. I would that James Toney has to be the greatest fighter that every lived.

Foxy 01..Is James Toney the greatest fighter to ever live? Is he top ten? Is Leonard a great fighter or somewhere along the lines of Nasem Hamed or lower?

    Thats all.

Let me try again. Show scorecards where Toney was completely shutout. Secondly show footage where Toney was beaten up and stopped.

If these two questions are too difficult for you, get some help.

    That's all 2.:hi:

He was beaten up, dropped, and nearly shut out in the 2nd Peter fight, to put it more simple he got his ass kicked:deal..

Who cares if he has never been stopped, it's better to be stopped then take a pro longed beating, that's gonna **** up your health..

The guys Leonard lost to ,Camacho, Norris were a helluva lot better than Montel Griffin and Drake Thadizi,???

Not to mention the gifts he shouldn't have gotten against Oquendo and Tiberi, which was a blatant robbery..

2 totally different fighters. Leonard was all about speed and footwork - he definitely had faster hands, faster combos and more footspeed. Toney on the other hand is a brilliant inside fighter who likes to stand on the ropes and counter you while he makes you miss. 2 different styles, they are both 2 brilliant, "natural" fighters, just different.

If Roy Jones woz der insted of Toney during d seim taim, u wud hev sin d occasional KO loss early in hiz record.

Instead hi woz younger, started hiz karir l8er, end weited 4 dem 2 grow shot iven furter.

In Leonard's ceis, hi ider w8ed 4 hiz opponents 2 autgrow deir weit, killd dem wiz cechw8s, w8ed 4 d r8 moment 2 f8 dem, or hed e vry uniq contract giving him ol d benefits.

Try to absorb this into your thick skull. James Toney NEVER EVER EVER lost a fight by a margin on the combined scorecards of 38 points.

James Toney NEVER EVER EVER got bashed up and stopped.

Now ask your stupid self who was the better NATURAL fighter of the 2?

What you and other Leonard fanboys think is of no consequence to me at all.

I'll say it again so that that your pea brain just might understand it. Aged 34 Toney was winning a title from Jirov.

Aged 40 he was beating decent level ( not good, but decent ) opponents at Heavyweight.

At both ages, Leonard was getting proper fvcked.

As the poster Baclava pointed out Leonard was all speed, flash and reflexes. Once they went he was toast.

Toney on the other hand being a NATURAL FIGHTER was able to carry on longer, without all the dedication and training that lesser fighters need.

Here is another tack for you to try. Ask all these old timers on here that defend and promote the greatness of fighters like Greb, Louis, Marciano, SRR, Williams, Tunney, Dempsey, etc, etc how enamoured they are by a guy that stands 8 feet away from an opponent winding up an imaginary punch, then leaps in flicks a jab and runs out again as though he's touched an electric fence.

Thats why folks get great pleasure from seeing the likes of Leonard, and Jones Jr get splattered, because their fanboys consider then to be great fighters, when the truth would seem to be that they were merely great athletes, and once the athleticism deserted them they had no alternative to offer.

The only interest I have with regard to something like you, is whether or not you were born a window licker, or did your family invest a lot of time and money to ensure you became one.

You see the OPINIONS of ******s like you are worthless.

I can SHOW you 2 scorecards out of 3 where Leonard lost by 16 points on each in only a 12 round fight.

I can SHOW you footage of Leonard getting battered into submission by a former S / Featherweight.

Can you show the same with Toney being the victim, in any of the weights he fought?:hi::hi:

Lets be honest here you have got 90 chances to Leonard's career of 40 fights.

Who both beat your favorite son ? It`s evident that you can,`t read either. Where do you rank THADZI and TIBERI who (amongst more than a few others) beat your hero ? Ok, now read, THADZI,TIBERI ??

let me interject if I may. this may help clarify the matter.

Ray was the better runner and since Leonard entered the ranks, running equals boxing prowess

howeve, when it comes to forcing the fight, James did a lot more

so what if he fell behind to Nunn? Ray Leonard fell behind to Hearns

Who DIDNT fall behind to Nunn? it was only round eight when he turned the tide and flattened Mike (a far more reputable fighter in 91 than hearns was in 81) in the 11th

add to that Mike's height & southpaw style which wouldve thrown off most worldclass fighters (note the Kalambay fight)

btw, that was a beaut of a left hook that took my man Mike down
