I know where you are coming from Roost. Enjoy my friend. It is great to bait the window lickers. You see these fools will mention guys like Tiberi who beat Toney by 6, 3, and 3 points, or Thazdi, who beat Toney by 0, 3, and 4 points.

What they don't pick up on however is the guy who shut Toney out 120 - 108 on ALL 3 cards. Dennis Lebedev.

Now I don't know why that is, perhaps you might be able to help me out Rooster. Do you think it might possibly have something to do with the fact that the same Lebedev KTFO the guy who Toney's critics claimed " schooled " him? Namely one Roy Jones Jr.

Now we are after all talking about a guy who wins a Middleweight title, a Super Middleweight title, a Mickey Mouse Light Heavyweight title, a genuine Cruiserweight title, and is fighting, and beating Heavyweight in his 40's.

This is a guy who is 5' 10" with a 72" reach, who by his critics own admission was a fat, lazy slob. Now lets compare him to the so called " BIG " Welter, Leonard, who is the same height, but with a longer reach.

Tell me Rooster do you envisage Leonard EVER having the guts to fight genuine Light Heavyweights, without a Catchweight clause, never mind Cruisers or Heavies?

    I think NOT.

    After all that.....

Still no answer to the simple question. Is James Toney the greatest fighter of all time?

Oh well. "Back to licking windows."

In my view, Toney edged Thadzi though.Toney landed the cleaner shots
The fight was comparable to Maidana-mayweather.

Tarver's & Johnson's wins over Jones r far far mor relevant than Jones' outcome vs Toney.
Jones was not shot nor drained vs Tarver & Johnson.
In fact Tarver was more drained than him when they fought, and both Tarver & Johnson were more shot than him by d time they fought him: Tarver being older and after a cocaine abuse, and both Tarver & Johnson, especially Johnson took more punishment than Jones did prior 2 fighting him.

Regarding Leonard, his best wins r Adolfo Viruet, Andy Price & Kevin Howard. Maybe I missed another 1 or 2 gud fiters. I du not consider dem ez bams BTW.
I jast got d filing det der iz e lot 2 teik ewei from diz rekord achivments, end it wil not b dyu 2 Viruet's, Price's & Howard's quality ez faiters.
Iven Tony Chiaverini woz probably dreind wen Leonard stopt him, jast check hiz w8s in boxrec. Not ez shur ebaut it ez i m ebaut Duran#2, Hearns #1, Lalonde & Benitez, bat Im olmost ez shur ebaut it ez im ebaut Hearns#2 & Kalule.

BTW, boxrec hez DeLaHoya 1 pleis over Leonard in their historical welterw8 rankings, end I du agri, iven if Im not shur det DLH wud hev biten Leonard if dei fot.

It was a tought fight, I thought Drake outhustled Toney ( who could get a tad lazy) . Toney was higly skilled,no doubt about it. I do feel though that RJJ would have his # every time they fought. You have to wonder how much better Toney could have been if his discipline matched his skill set...

JLP, good post as usual... Either he can`t read,or when confronted with a challenging question ( which is quite often) he resorts to using classy name calling and profanity. Poor guy.he is very challenged in life :(

    Thanks Waynegrade.

I think it takes a lot of talent to come here make a mess with so much conviction and gusto that Foxy 01 does. Seriously, I went from incredulous to impressed by his consistant grasp of the absurd. He is like a great abstract artist. It took me a while to get what he was doing but now I understand. He did answer my question. It was, " I have no idea what I am talking about!", but it was coded in the form of rants and screams. Very nice work Foxy 01!

Seriously, when the question was put to him in a once-and-for-all manner, he ran from it for dear life. I wonder why he feels under so much pressure? He reacted like like an animal trapped in a corner. He jumped out screaming and clawing at anything in his way. It was a very impressive display uncontrolled wildman fury. The problem for him is that all of his wild, scared, punches are easliy countered by any one with basic boxing knowledge and novice debating skill.

I just felt Toney landed the cleaner shots against Thadzy and won by a 2 point margin.

Yep jones has a difficult style for james toney. However, I do feel that an in shape james toney would have made that fight a lot more comüetitive.

    Leonard fighting a real lightheayweight?

no. for Ray to flourish, he must take a once in a life time against a once in a lifetime mediocrity such as Lalonde

are you kidding? he couldnt even handle a light middleweight with the initials T.N.

I get what your saying,it was a tough and close fight. See we can agree to disagree:) One of the things I enjoy on here is the conversation/debate. Most guys know their stuff and lots of times they actually can make you look at things in a different way. But there are 2 people (maybe one ! ) on here that are delusional, rude and have zero class. Name calling and a certain lack of intelligence... You just have to laugh sometimes...

Oh dear you've been PAWNED " again " I'll just keep looking at the clips of Leonard getting fvcked by Norris, and Camacho, and you keep thinking of ways to slag off Toney, who could eat junk food on his way to victory, and turn up in any shape he wanted to.

    Hahahahahahaha, MORON.
