This question is like Michael Jordon vs LeBron. I can only say that Sugar Ray was the man back then. He put on amazing displays of skill and was a fantastic finisher. Floyd has yet to meet a person with even close skill or someone who will bury their head in his chest and hit his arms and body. Sugar Ray stepped up to fight legends - Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Benitez. Tough battles. Leave Sugar Ray where he belongs as one of the greatest of his time. Let's hope Floyd finds someone who can test him to make him show that kind of greatness. And likely will not be Pacman.

I like this post, but Jordan has nothing on SRL in terms of opposition.

 

There really isn't much of a difference in size. Floyd's a legit Welter now, and that's in the age of day-before weigh-ins. Size wouldn't an issue. The issue would be Ray was just so, so much better. SRL at his peak was just about as good as it gets in all of boxing history, and Floyd - talented as he is - isn't at that level.

 

floyd easily hurts sugar ray who is known to easily wobble with single punches that's why he has to really stick tight to his d. floyd ko's mr noodle legs.
