Ive seen it all now. Someone claiming Robinsons power was overrated... Its not like the guys record was padded and he still has some of the best HL reel knockouts over top fighters youll ever see. Most fighters stop getting impressive KOs when they step up but Robinson not only continued getting KOs against the best he knocked out some of the most durable fighters in the divisions he fought in. He was a monster puncher alin tgd amateurs at FW and carried that power to MW.

THAT RIGHT HAND PUNCH MIGHT HAVE KOED ANY MIDDLEWEIGHT!!! ROBINSON KOED GENE FULLMER WITH A PERFECT LEFT HOOK. ROBINSON WAS A DEVASTATING PUNCHER.

Surprised at you saying this, LaMotta as with say a Battling Nelson or Chuvalo could take just about anything from any fighter and not drop, surely you have seen the bombs flush from Foreman on Chuvalo, more then what put away Norton and Frazier and George was waiting for more. GGG had nothing punch wise over Robinson who put many away with one punch, both hands, to the head and body.

Floyd Patterson said he was almost unique in that he could kayo you whilst going backwards.

38 of his fights that went the distance came after he was 35 years old.

Mayweather has 4 actual ko's on his record, one is against a guy who was sucker punched,[Victor Ortiz].
One, Justin Juuko was on his feet when the fight was waived off.
Felipe Garcia was in a the middle of a run, winning 1 of his last 8 fights and retiring, his record is an underwhelming 14-18-1.The other victim is Sam Girard who again was in the middle of winning 3 of his last 11 fights and retiring.

    Robinson ko'd
    Fullmer
    Olsonx2
    Levine
    Graziano
    Van Dam
    Costner x2
    Hudson

Ray has 54 clean knockouts on his sheet.

Mayweather has scored 1 ko in the 18 years and that was over Ortiz ,who had his hands down and was talking to the referee!

I'd give Robinson 10 out of 10 for power.

Robinson might have had a weakness (or weaknesses) somewhere, but we can safely say punching power isn't it.

Agreed. It's obvious that the thread poster had a "FM was better than SRR" agenda .. I think he folded up his tent and took his circus act on the road.

It was never about FM. It was merely a side point that 'featherfisted' FM has the same KO percentage as Top 5 all time puncher SRR. That doesn't add up.

"SRR could knock out guys going backwards". Featherfisted FM knocked Hatton out going backwards. Big deal.

I'ts too early to decide if you are a troll,or merely ignorant of pugilistic history.
I hope it is the latter.

False equivalency, Floyd and Ray didn't fight the exact same competition at the exact same weight classes.

Floyd caught Hatton with a check left hook. When a fighter is said to be able to knock someone out while going backwards, that is not what they are talking about.

Also, that wasn't the knockout it was just a knockdown preceding the knockout a few moments later.

Nobody knew what a "check left hook" was until Mayweather called it that himself. He knocked Hatton out backing up.

Where the hell did you get that idea? Boxers have understood what a check left hook is for decades. He did not knock Hatton out while backing up.
