srr was undoubtably great as is Floyd.the general consensus is that srr would blow away Floyd, but if that's the case how would he do it,floyd has barely had a glove layed on him his whole career which has been spent at the elite level for many years.whats your take ?

Is this not a testament to floyds greatness, that he is compared to him? How about you compare ray to pac then?

I think it is testament.even tho I rate pac as a greater fighter than Floyd I think Floyd had a better chance against srr than pac did against leonard.i base this on the fact ray was lightning fast as was pac but leonard could take hearns's best shots at welterweight which indicates he would take pacs also but could pac take leonards ?
both would be classic match ups but I think rays size advantage would be decisive against pac.
srr Floyd on the other hand I have difficulty in coming up with an outcome, its easy to say srr was the greatest p4p ever and rightfully so but that doesn't mean he would have beaten any fighter that lived,i think Floyd would be a nightmare for anyone that ever lived at the weight head to head

SRR destroys Floyd, too much speed, volume, aggression mixed with killer footwork & skills.

Ray RObinson is too big for Floyd.

Even though he fought as a lightweight in the Golden Gloves in NY in the 30's, the guy was a boxer who fought professionally from WW all the way to LHW.

Same goes with Ray Leonard and Hearns, these guys are just naturally larger men than Floyd.

the guys to really compare Floyd to are those who have similar body frames and started fighting at lower weight classes. Specifically Roberto Duran, Benny Leonard, Hank Armstrong, Julio Chavez Sr, Pernell Whitaker, Oscar/Mosley, Alexis Arguello and Aaron pryor are just a few names that come to mind as guys that campaigned around the same weight classes that Floyd did.

I think the real question is how would Pacquiao vs Jimmy Wilde would've gone. I'm sure there's many people here qualified to give an in-depth analysis of this matchup.

Floyd is not that stupid, health would come first. Just look at Ali as Floyd always say it.

They aren't even remotely in the same league when it comes to power, Floyd would get slaughtered, much like he would if he were to fight Hearns. If we're talking SRL as opposed to SRR, much the same thing. In order to hang with these guys you have to be able to hurt them and also be able to take their best shots, neither of which do I think Floyd can do.

    It's a pretty stupid thread.

SRR would beat Floyd most times than not, but lets not go overboard. He's not going to brutally knock out Floyd 10/10 or give him a sustained beatdown. Many fighters not as great as Floyd and with defenses no where close to Floyd have gone the distance with SRR.

SRR is the GOAT, but lets not overrate him by saying he was KO3 anybody he goes up against.

Robinson. To beat ray in his prime you had to have power and press him . Floyd dont fight like that he would lose and pretty easily

Floyd Jr is not a natural 147 or 154. around 140 to 135, he could compete with anybody in the history of the sport, all time great fighter.
