Even I haven't seen some of his best work, such as his win over Holman Williams, one of the best MW's of the day and arguably top 10 of all time. Fights like that would be absolute gems to see how LaMotta worked at his best. What I have seen aside from the Robinson and Murphy fights(both past prime, though he did manage to do just what I was talking about when he took apart another pressure fighter in his prime in Murphy) are the Cerdan fight which I mentioned, and his FOTY win over Frenchman Laurent Dauthuille in which he stopped him in the 15 round of a bruiser, once again showing his indomitable will and relentlessness. I'd recommend that one if you've not seen it. I've also seen footage of a younger LaMotta, but not only can I not remember who against, I can't remember much about it other than that he looked to be in better shape than in the latter parts of his career, such as against Robinson. I doubt you're ever going to be impressed with LaMotta technically. As you said, his crouching style did leave him vulnerable to many, many shots which is why he had to develop head movement to cope, though he did have a titanium chin anyway. But basically the bit I highlighted in your post is 100% correct IMO, which is why I'd favor him over quite a few pressure fighters of that caliber. As for Santos, the only fight I've seen of his was the Margarito fight, and that didn't leave me terrible impressed to be honest. There was really nothing there that I saw over 15 rounds to make me favor him over Jake. He may give him some difficulty with his style, but beat him? I can't say that. Jake was limited, but I wouldn't say he was that limited, not if he's beating a Holman Williams level boxer.
