Being an aussie and not having seen one of Amir Khan fights, this might come acros as a bit ignorant.

However I noticed on ko-odds.com that Gairy St Clair is at 9-1 with the bookies against Khan. St. Clair is no slouch and Johnny Lewis - still the only boxing coach in oz worth a pinch of **** - rates him highly. Is it just me getting all starry eyed with the 9-1 or is Khan really that good?

    I'd save your money mate

Khan is going to be huge in comparison. He won't get any favours from the judges against the golden boy either, and I'm not sure if he has the power to knock Khan out

Might be worth a speculative bet, but nothing more

Why is everyone arguing that Khan is huge? Hes a lightweight and has no problems making the weight and looks like he walks around that weight as well. Perhaps its an attempt to discredit Khan's victory before it can come.

St. Clair has been in with hard hitting lightweights former world champs at lightweight who couldnt knock him out. The guy was sparring partner for Zoo and Judah and only last year was an IBF belt holder at super feather.
St. Clair is 5ft6 and Khan is 5ft9, besides boxing is weight class division not height class. By far better than the Thaxton or anyone in the British lightweight scene right now.

So size wont be the issue skills will.

i think at 9-1 its worth a shot its not like you lose much is it?

Betting on Khan would be rediculous as he is 1/33!!!

I'm puttin 2$ on St-Clair to win by 8th round KO at 100/1

Khan is the goldenboy so the betting is tighly packed up on his side. If I was a betting man 9-1 would look a good punt but due to the hype job and publicity I can not see anything but a Khan ko. St-Clair has been picked as a good name who holds little threat and although alround better than Thaxton he lacks the one thing that can dent Khans armour and thats a big punch.

Little punch = little chance. Remember Khan will have the judges and the ref to rely on if things start going wrong.

Until Khan's opponents are no longer hand-picked I won't be betting against him

Can't wait for this match, Khan says he's gonna go for the knockout.

Anything is possible. Limond nearly beat him. FW was hand picking opponents for Jennings and Young Mutley beat him.

Just been reading a thread about St Clair in the aussie forum - a couple of posters have suggested he has looked very poor recently.

Still, 9-1 is worth a small flutter. That kind of odds, you might as well give it a go.

Truth is that he has not had that many top class fights and although he was super feather champion it did not last long. He has good talent but I would be surprised if Warrens match makers did not have him looked at very closely. 9-1 seems pretty fair but I doubt the guy evan has a punches chance.

5 years! How poor can he be if he won the IBF super feather title only less than a year and half ago.

Gairy said his weak performance were due to the fact that fought the rematch with Baloyi with an injury.
