Pavlik would stop this guy in 8 rounds max, even if kelly is only 60% of the fighter he was against miranda or taylor, groves has some poor footwork and doewsnt have the power to keep his distance with baldy. His inside game isn terrible and pavlik would beat him up against the ropes, would look like the common theme of a sexual assult on a british high street early hours of a saturday morning.

I dont think Groves will allow Pavlik to have him on the ropes too much, Groves has a good punch, he can mix things too, The Dark Lord will have groves fighting to a game plan that exposes Pavliks weaknessess. Pavliks game is too predictable. Groves can Box, counter box/punch and fight and has a decent punch.

I dont think grioves has much of an option but to be pushed into the ropes im afradi especially after tghe mid rounds, (should it go that far) anderson pushed groves to his limit, had him struggling big time.

The ghost when on form has some amazing pressure, you think groves could put up with the pace from the pavlik martinez fight?

but this wouldnt be the same fight, dont see things so black and white, Groves movement will give Pavlik problems, some knock groves foot movement but its underestimated, he had Degale confused bigtime.

Groves is very fleet of foot and very good at setting up his attacks with lateral movement, he learnt some very important lessons against Anderson and the improvements were clear to see in his last fight. Groves would rock Pavlik back onto his heels on a regular basis, the difference in speed and skill would be plain to see. A few years back i would have chose Pavlik to stick the jab on Groves and to stop him by the middle rounds but as you concede with the comment "The Ghost when on form" Pavlik is not what he once was. Groves TKO11

  8. It's worth noting that Pavlik has no power at 168lbs. He hasn't carried it well.

Bernard Hopkins, Sergio Martinez and Jack Daniels have ruined Pavlik.

    Groves takes this hands down

It has certainly served as a blueprint, DEgale although has potential has the wrong team around him, certtainly as far as trainers go. They weent giving him the right advice. It was also because he couldnt get his shots of because his gloves were being covered at a distance negating a serious offence from someone as cautious as degale whereas a workhorse like pavlik would hit you with anything and everything.

Groves feet are slown and awkward for someone on his level, (whatever that is above british) groves needs to fight someone like a sakio bika first and foremost that will really shiow us where he is. But pavlik with his long arms would keep pushing groves back and he would not be able to maintain a suitable offense to get teh victory or even keep him off.

Pavlik was never a power puncher thats why, more of the sort that ground you down and forced his will on to his victim.

Groves would win easily, Pavlik at 168 is poor enough, throw in the fight he had with booze and you have a fighter would be beaten by anyone in the top 15.

And the guy who don't think Froch has an easy night with him, you must be having a ****ing laugh.

This is potentially a very good fight. Both guys are relevant in the smw division right now. If Pavlik is focussed and in good shape I can easily see this being a fan friendly war.

Degale looked cautious because Groves nullified him making him look that way, preventing degale from getting into his rythm for alot of the fight. Groves may start off doing that to Pavlik if they fight but i think he`d start mixing it later. At the end of the day Groves outboxes pavlik

Pavlik has depreciated and a fighter like groves can cause him serious problems. Excellent fight to gauge where they currently stand. I actually lean towards Groves if his face holds up, he just can't take the same heat he took from the tall Mexican he battled last time out, he moved well but was still hit more than you think a somewhat smooth fighter would be touched. Not a good plan vs Pavlik.
