Well, if you've seen "State of Play" I'd say that assessment is way wide. It was vintage Crowe at his best.
They are in a slump but is it a bad thing? Lets have a look: Manly had 50 points put on them by Souths in rd 23 last year. They won the gf by 40. In 2006 Brisbane lost their last four regular season matches AND their first semi-final match. They won their next three games and took out the premiership. Bennett coached. Go figure.
This is how Bennett works. Most teams try to build up training and intensity all year to peak at the finals. Bennett's method in regard to training and intensity is too have a high intensity pre eason, get the points in the board to guarantee a showing in the finals then give the boys a bit of a break and then peak come September while the other teams are starting to become exhausted. St George WILL win the premiership, like mentioned above look at the Bronco's in '06 for an example.:good
The seed has been sown. Put it this way, if Saints finish second, they are still about a month away from sudden death football. They have time to get things right again. Parra are the form team. But I'd rather be in Saints position than them. KNOCK KNOCK Who's there? OWEN Owen who? OWEN THE SAINTS, OH WHEN THE SAINTS, OH WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN..... :happy :happy :happy
this is what i like about you ash.your the guy with the gleam of hope in his eye.mundine is gonna step up saints are gonna win the MP after getting belted by souths without wing, asotasi, crocker, talanoa, wesser, champion.GOOD STUFF.:good:good
WOW $500,000 profit after doing $4mill the previous year..must be the biggest sponsor you had since the great fire power deal.face facts little bro you have half the world cup winning team in your side. you have a great back line and you still miss the 8.these sponsors will ditch you just like russ will if you underperform again next year.so enjoy your win over the dragons and finishing well who cares noy in the 8 and prepare for the charity shield next year where you needle up players to win it . on a serious note to ash and the other dragons fans i hope your right and this isnt the beginning of another choke.i mean losing like that to the russellos has got me worried.lets hope we bounce back against parra.
optimistic ash.realistically i think we will finish 3rd.is it just me but since matt cooper and jeremy smith have come back from injury and been put straight into the top squad our team has gone ****:huh:huh maybe we should go back to the players we had before and drop these two to premier league?
Well, they did lose 4 million last year, but a lot of that went towards redeveloping Redfern, and redeveloping the changing sheds at Homebush. It's the first time in a long time where Souths have been in a position to upgrade facilities, and they've only been able to do so on the back of Crowe, and other cash people that he brings in. True, theres no leagues club, but with the poker machine tax, and 3 or so Sydney clubs actually losing over a million dollars on them last year, who really needs one. The fact that they can get by and come out financially better than any other Sydney club is a testimont to good management, even more so considering that we'll finish outside the 8. That alone says a lot especially when you compare us to say Cronulla (sorry WhataRock) who finished 3rd last year, yet still lost millions.
To be honest Ash' you might as well keep that avitar - there are just as many arseholes in that team as there is in yours so you might as well just keep things the way they are!
