Boxing fans are way to quick to scream robbery. You can't say that Stalker definitely won that fight. You can't even pick up whether half the punches land with the angle of the tv coverage. Add into it that when they were both having an exchange and both landing the commentary team would just be praising stalker 'lovely shot', 'good work' etc. It's pretty easy for 'emotional' people to get caught up in it and scream robbery. I personally had Stalker winning it, but only just and I couldn't tell half the time whether the punches were slipping through Stalker's high guard. Anyway, just saw on Twitter that Team GB are appealing it. I can't see it working though, surely that's only really an option where one boxer totally outclassed the other and had the decision go against them.
GB are appealing the result of the Stalker fight which is odd because thay didn`t when Marshall got robbed.
If THAT appeal is granted, where Custio Clayton's (against Fred Evans) wasn't...the London Olympics is officially the sham to end all shams.
Especially Woodhall, too biased. When a british fighter is boxing it's 9 minutes of non stop cheerleading & not saying anything when the opponent lands.
I wouldn't expect anything to come from the appeal. Home fighter lost by a point in pursuit of a medal, so hardly front page news that an appeal process has begun
It was a close fight and I have no issues with the result. People are way too quick to scream robbery when a decision goes against them or who they support.
I thought he won the fight personally, my first reaction was 'has he just paid the price there because of people crying robbery over pavon?' And I do think pavon beat joshua.........gutted for the lad as you could see it meant everything to him. Reading David Price on twitter he def isn't happy with the judging.
Stalker lost, hardly landed anything,Commentary was so biased it was unreal,Mongolian would connect with two punches then Stalker would throw a punch back and hit gloves and Woodhall and Neilly would go wild..
Stalker lost that fight. He came back into in the final round, but still untidy enough to get picked off despite looking the fresher and stronger fighter. He needed to press harder for the win. Mongolian was robbed in the first which he won handsomely.
i feel for him as i like the guy but it was such a close fight, 1 point to the Mongolian- got no problem with that
Magee talks about everything but the fight,he is a national treasure but he has always been a terrible commentator..
