I thought ogoo vs hartel was another close one, could of went either way, much like Stalkers fight. Luckily for GB they got the decision on that occassion. I felt Ogogo lost his first bout and Joshua certainly lost his..
Stalker fought like Amir Khan in that fight just kept coming forward and throwing hence why he scored 22 points if he had been smarter in defence and not been as trigger happy and picked his shots he would have been better off as the Mongolian was just waiting for Tom to engage and then he just caught him multiple times. The commentary is embarrassing they just watch the shots that land on the opponent and not what comes back hence why people shout robbery, but if you watch it back yes Tom did catch his opponent more but he got caught a hell of a lot
Kudos to Price for speaking up and saying what everyone else is thinking, some people wouldn't dare speak out against people in the boxing circle
As far as I can remember, only Joshua got a gift decision in his fight and Ogogo was lucky in being given the decision against that world number 1 dude he fought. Apart from that, I honestly don't think any of the british boxers got robberies going their way . There are some close contests which could have gone either way, which they got the decision on. People just wanna cry robbery for every little thing, because they either have an agenda, or just love being controversial. Ogogo vs Hartel was close. Evans 1/4 final bout was close. And stalker last night were close. None of those were robberies. They were all close fights! There were major robberies and shocks throughout the tournament though. But i don't think its right to say that the Brits profited from multiple robberies!
The review was always destined for failure. Steve Lillis was saying on Twitter that you can't appeal the judges decision, only the refs performance. If that's the case there were never any grounds. Even if you could appeal the decision, you can't just ask them to re-score certain rounds to suit your case. He probably did deserve the last round, but the 6-6 first round was just as bad. Stalker lost that by a couple. What cost Stalker most was the fact he went head hunting for 3 rounds. Not once did he go to the body to open up any opportunities to score and it just became predictable. A simple jab head, jab body, left hand over the top would have done wonders against the Mongolian as his right hand kept dropping. A woman sitting next to me in the crowd who'd never watched amateur boxing before said halfway through the 3rd round 'It's obviously only punches to the head that count right? Otherwise he'd try and hit his body too?'. If she could spot the problem...
I thought stalker performed pretty rubbish in all his performances, not really bothered with him leaving the competition. It was a close fight and I thought he just about edged it, but no way was it a robbery.
the cheek of team GB lodging an appeal is the real disgrace. our (GB) boxers have been heavily favoured throughout and in my opinion the only GB boxer that deserves a medal is Nicola Adams.
she's been the stand out by far, if she does the job tonight with no dodgy scores she's put the men to shame.
step father aint a massive boxing fan but he as been watching and could not believe that stalker lost
bull****. the only robbery i saw was Savon - Joshua and maybe ogogo. The rest had some close fights but no robberies
Not bull**** I did not say "robberies", I said "heavily favoured" and I like many others believe they have been.
