I would make them villains to an extent, but I would still make you feel sorry for them, when events turned against them! As for Johnson, he would be the hero, but you would like him less and less as the film progressed.
I think Michael Jaleel White would play a great Jack Johnson. He knows how to fight, closer to Jack in size and complexion.
I agree .. I loved the Rocky movies and respect Stallone but he is a pretty horrible film maker , all concept little quality content .. a Johnson film, to break ground, needs so much more os a serious sociological portrait of the insanity this man faced to begin to explain his reactions and I don't see that in Stallone's wheel house .. I can see him having the skill nd muscle to make a film but it will be his version of a commercial stamp ... we will see .. hopefully interesting at least ..
Johnson's life was on such an epic scale that a regular length feature film may not do him justice. The Great White Hope did a great job within the confines of its origins from the stage, with Jones outstanding as Jack. The new production might be better suited to a multi - part TV series - not what Sly envisions unfortunately. However its great that Stallone is moving from comic book boxing to reality in this case. Given his short, eventful life, Johnson victim, Ketchel stands out as one of the most obvious subjects for the big screen. Amazing, it's never been done.
I agree. The problem with Stallone is he makes everything a big comeback for the excitement, and I don't know if I see him making a really objective movie. Johnson was real he was not a Rocky character.
I was referring to the "White American Public, "of Johnson's time. Do you think America was populated just by the English? Don't you know your own history? "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free ." I bet you don't even know who wrote it! ps One T in British! Do you think so?
naa he'll make Jack sound like a posh old english man who needs a lozenge. Much like he does with almost all his character. christ that Bane fcuk up, he will never live it down. I'll give him credit for Taboo/Jack Delaney though.
