Think about it. What great fighters didn't have a really solid chin and stamina?

Look at Tommy Hearns. Thought to be the worst of the fab 4, though still an ATG.

But he was the worst of the group despite having by far the most power. Being the best boxer of the four. And being very, very fast. He didn't even look much slower than Leonard.

So why was he the worst of the four? His chin and stamina were noticeably lower than the others.

Punch resistance is one of if not the most important attribute for a fighter to have, go ask Amir Khan or Fraudley how important a chin is.

I'd say actual skill is the most important attribute. Putting your opponent into positions where his punches have to be delivered at angles unfavourable to generating power / accuracy while maximizing the effectiveness of one's own blows? Timing his movements so as so counterpunch or footwork to force the sort of fight (inside or out) that is most favourable? Then again what do I know?

I agree. Its fun to say things like "heart and determination wins all" but when you really get down to it you want
good Footwork, sense of foot position. sense of angles both in punch trajectory and foot position.
    Sense of Distance
Counterpunching ability (some have it better than others)
sense of danger (do you know have to tie up, get off the ropes).
    speed.
    and chin last.

Joe Louis didn't seem very alpha to me. Neither did Rocky Marciano.

Most important? No. Technique, tactics, speed, agility, chin, athletic ability, conditioning, etc. etc.
Good technique, for example rolling with punches, and good conditioning will also allow a fighter take better shots to the chin.
One link missing and the chain is broken. Of course being bad at one thing can be compensated by being very good at others.

I meant mostly in the ring, you think betaboys have real success in this sport.you have to be tough.Marciano was epitome of alpha inside the ring.betaboys would cover and run when thinks go rough.Marciano keep coming after you.didn't run and hide.

Of course there are exceptions like always.like One of my favourites Mayweather.you win a boxing match, but you are far away winning a fight.Marciano and Louis wanted the win and also break your will and body.that's Alpha.make your opponents as your *****es who are scared of you

Well if your chin is good but you have **** stamina and defense you're eventually getting stopped. But if you have good stamina and defense but a below average chin you can still dominate good fighters. I'd say stamina is very important because when you're not tired even in the 12th you can think clearly, your defense will be up to par when you're not tired, you're movement would be useful and a high output is very important to win rounds.

There is no most important attribute. If you lack in one thing, you can make up for it elsewhere. The most important thing is to know how to utilize what you have.
