Arrrrrggghhh lol people always say this. Professional boxer X does this and does that he runs 15 miles so we should. 1 remember most people on here are mostly boxing amateur for 4 rounds and 2 i hope sport science has come along since the 40's and 50's!
It's this kind of mentality that has kept boxing training in the dark ages for so long compared to all other sports. The point is that he was probably getting the important aspects of his stamina from other aspects of his training. And imagine how good his stamina would have been if had access to the benefits of modern sports science. Obviously huge runs wouldn't have had a negative effect on his stamina, it's just that science has shown us that there are more effective and less time consuming ways of achieving it.
exactly! boxing can be very backwards in some respects think the thinking on training is changing finally tho lol
