Tell me between these two great heavyweights, who had more in the gas tank over fifteen rounds, and your reasoning for supporting the other fighter? Also, is there another fighter that you would put right beside these two as having the best stamina?

    PetethePrince, here you go.

I would say Frazier. He threw 70 or so punches (I counted punches in a few rounds over a series of fights in his prime) a round on top of relentless pressure and a constant bob and weave style. Even if he wasn't in range of his fighter, he was always moving his body and head. Rocky's is great too.

Ali has great stamina, so does Holyfield. Its not just throwing loads of shots but moving and punching

Frazier had great stamina but Rocky had the greatest late power and punch rate. Frazier showed late power vs Ali in the 1st fight but fizzled after the hook.. I think Marciano would have finished him if it had been him in there under the same circumstances.

    :D

Am I allowed to give my analysis in this thread? Specifically in regards to stamina (I'll try being as coherent as possible. LoL). Or are we both out? By the way, can you still make it a poll?

    Nice posts guys.

Anyone here think Foreman deserves a mention? He showed pretty good stamina in his second reign as champion, but it was questionable in his first reign.

    Definitely Marciano.

He came close to matching the punch output for Tua Ibeabuchi, over 15 rounds against Ezzard Charles.

The fifteen round distance probably didnt do him justice. He is purported to have hit the heavy bag for 60 rounds during practice.

Put him in a 20 round fight and you could see some real late fight destruction.

Henry Hsscup is the president for New Jersey Boxing Commission...he counted the punch output of Marciano vs Charles I vs the punch output of Ali Frazier I and said Marciano-Charles I came out on tops for the rounds that were shown.

I'll go with Marciano on this one mostly due to the fact that he weighed 20 lbs less and didn't have to carry that extra weight Frazier would have to for 15 whole rounds.

Head to head, two of the best go forward , high punch rate fighters in heavyweight history. Look at the punches thrown in both Fraziers 3rd fight with Ali , and Marcianos epic with Ezzard Charles.. These two would stand there all night and probably end up boxing a tech dec draw like Charles Williams against Merqui Sosa.. LOL where the referee called a halt as both fighters were deemed unable to continue due mostly to the heavy punishment handed out over such a long hard fight.. It would have been something to watch.. It would have been almost like watching something mechanical.

Doesn't much matter, Rocky wouldn't have seen the 15th round against Frazier.

    Or the 14th.

    Or the 13th.

    Or the 12th.

Maybe Rocky would have seen the 11th, but I have my doubts.

I could say the same for Frazier, which would probably be more likely the case.

Marciano went 15 once against Charles and Frazier twice (Bonavena and Ali 1) . To me, Frazier's was the far more impressive performance ... the rest is speculative ..
