So I've started training at Oliver's Gym in Salford Manchester, had my 3rd session yesterday.

Whilst shadow boxing, coach asked what hand I write with (I said right), which he then said to then put my left leg forward and use my left for jabs.

However, Although I write with my right, I throw with my left and I also Kick with my left. I didn't get a chance to properly explain this to him, so i tried with my left foot forward, but it just didn't feel natural or confident moving around. With my right foot forward I feel alot more stable and my punches feel alot more tidy.

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers,
    Zaz

Use the stance where you feel comfortable. Everything else doesn't make sense. Take your coach aside after the training session or before and explain it to him.

Your experience isn't atypical. Many righties stand with their right foot forward for some it's just natural that way. However give it a month of standing the "proper way" round and it won't feel unnatural anymore. You say you have a strong left, well if thats the case it can also be very beneficial as a lead hand. Whichever way round you decide to stand the most important thing is to commit to that given stance, at least at first.
