I’m a boxer and I’m not a pressure fighter, I like to stick and move/keep the fight at a distance and use my jab to set up other punches, I really don’t like fighting on the inside, I’ll just clinch usually, unless I have to fight back. I have really good reflexes(not bragging) I’m good at seeing punches coming, I feel it is my best skill, and I fight really shitty(dulled reflexes, slower punches etc.) when I use the textbook/high guard, so I fight with my hands low, I use footwork & head movement to avoid punches, but I bring both hands up when I feel I need to block.(I use blocking as a last resort/as an extra layer of protection if the punch DOES land) What are the times when I can drop my hands and get away with it? When do I need to have 1 hand up(philly shell) & when do I need to bring both hands up(peek a boo) AND how does the low guard affect your footwork, head movement, offensive skills etc.?? And also if it isn’t too much to ask, what are some of the ways switching your stance can benefit you in a boxing match? Besides covering distance faster.?
