tonight saw some of the wort examples of refering and judging i have ever seen even dave parris would have struggled to out do the refs for worst ref of the night if he was officiating amongst the examples i saw

a fighter be allowed to literally sit down in the ring on 5 seperate occasions as he was out on his feet and not be counted as a knockdown and then WIN the fight on points.

a ref firstly take 2 points from a cuban fighter then realise he had done wrong decided to over compensate for his mistake by disqualifing the other fighter.

and a very odd decision from the judges in the last fight.

is it me or is this spoilin what should be the highlight on the olympics for me i.e the boxing

i thought the majority of judging before tonight was more or less spot on. But tonight has left a sour taste in my mouth. Lets hope someone kicks up a fuss about it and the officials are forced to catch themselves on.

Most of it has been fine imo.the Iranian fighter getting disqualified was pathetic though.

the boxing in general has been a higher standard than it was 4 years ago.

Not shocked by the slightest, however, the judging is sub par. Not very professional from what I gathered tonight. Hopefully the official sort themselves out after tonight and they get some feedback. It's not right to shaft fighters. Be fair (is all I ask).

I dont waste my time watching the amateur **** Genchy my good man,

The amateur game is even more corrupt than the pros & the pro game has enough controversy right now to keep me raging for years to come, so just tell me who won the medals at the boxing & I will keep a closer eye on them!

Thats my take on semi pro boxers, in a nutshell, end of story.

The odd thing is that there haven't been all that many controversial decisions so far, possibly less than you'd get in this many pro fights. But then tonight's session was just appalling.

A hometown gift for Joshua, after he lost every round to Savon.
The Japanese kid going home after some truly bizarre refereeing and judging.
The Iranian being disqualified for nothing.

I was fcking fuming with the ref over that Iranian dq. Disgrace!

And I was screaming at the ref to do something to that punk who kept dropping down to his feet in the last round against the Japanese fighter (who btw got a reception that closely matched the GB Boys, seriously)

As for Anthony Joshua fight. It was obvious from the first round what was going to happen

Japanese fighter had his decision overturned. Some justice at least.

The decision to disqualify the Iranian was second only to the Jap decision IMO.

It seemed to me like he was just missing and they kept coming together... no big deal, just warn the guy if it's repetitive.

We saw far worse in Beijing, guys running for the hills having scored first, or holding constantly.

Can't DQ a guy for missing, surely?

Compared to what we've seen before in the amateurs the non stoppage of the Azerbaijani was laughable, in the pros it would have been stopped.

It's the same all the time, it has to be one of the most corrupt sports on earth, shame it's not more high profile as no one seems to care enough to fix it, it's just like oh it's boxing, thats what happens.
