Ketchel was absolutely one of the best h2h of the pre 1930s fighters, and his resume speaks for itself. Ketchel would murder Trinidad. Ketchel was a ****ing animal. He was one of the most relentless finishers ever, and had wicked power in both hands. He was like a tiger when he smelled blood. As a puncher and finisher, he compares well to Jack Dempsey. Ketchel also had balls. He took on bigger prime ATG black fighters when most other white fighters drew the color line. Compact punching doesn't do much when you have a hungry, vicious beast on top of you with a bomardment of bricks in his fists. Trinidad's chin will let him down early...There is a huge difference between Ketchel and Vargas.
Ketchell was trying to arrange a rematch with Johnson, but exactly one year after their fight he was shot and killed.
