yeah, Spinks had a lot of home town support didn't he? Kinda strange to see that kind of support for a defensive boxer in America, Wlad gets it in mainland Europe but I just don't expect that from Americans really. I've always said I wanted Floyd to fight Spinks, just to have him in there with a totally defensive minded boxer. He fought Chicanito who was a good technician but Spinks was full on defensive.
Yea I think the more blue collar cities will come out for their local fighter when they have a publicised champ. Holyfield, Andre Ward and FMJ sold allot of seats in their home towns, but they don't seem to get quite the same travelling support like Brits do Mayweather was actually talking about the Spinks fight for quite along time (since Corley in 04) and he'd probably look to come forward from what he said
