going by the footage i have seen on ketchel, his style relied heavily on mauling on the inside……….which again is not allowed in modern rings (see Holding and hitting).

ketchel, while obviously powerfull, never showed much in the way of "classic Boxing skills". hagler on the other Hand had both skill and power...….and could fight at any range.

all in all, hagler was a much more complete package and should win by onesided stoppage.

It’s a shame that the footage we have of Ketchel is apparently not indicative of his style (read the reports) but then again you’re generally not the smartest so I’m not surprised your analysis is so poor.

    Basically this.

Ketchel had a murderous attack but so did Hagler when the mood struck him. The difference is that Hagler could do pretty much everything well and he could adapt to what the opponent was doing. The nail in the coffin for Ketchel is Hagler's legendary chin. If Stanley can't KO him (well, mind you maybe he could, he's one of the few guys who might put a dent in Hagler but I wouldn't bet on it) he's got to outpoint him, and that I don't see happening.

Hagler Win's but Ketch is on his ass all through out .Hagler would look the stronger of the two but in the ring Stanley takes everything thrown and hits back with out a backwards step. Like Duran ,ketch fear's no man .At the end of the fight Stanley is held back from continuing and has to be bustled back to his corner .

Ketchel had a very good punch variety and could land combos from any range. His jab was more than just for show as well. He was more than just a face first brawler, there's no way he'd have unified the division if thats all he was.

He was an aggressive fighter, no doubt. However against Hagler he's facing one of the best ever.

I'm not of the belief that guys like Mugabi were a level above Ketchel, Ketchel had championship class and Mugabi never did. But can Hagler even be knocked out? I doubt it.

Gonna favour Hagler by late stoppage here.

What I want in this fight is to be ringside! Whoa! I'll take Hagler by decision , in a brutal mess. There could be a tko on cuts.
