Pretty simple enough, Ketchel walked around and fought Johnson at 170 so it shouldn't be too tough for him.

20 rounds, no neutral corner rule, ref is lax on cheating and clinch fighting. Can Ketchel catch the tricky speedster like he did with Philadelphia Jack O'Brien? Or does RJJ outbox the puncher?

I respect Ketchel. But, he wouldn't know what hit him.

Ketchel has a wild man's punching chance. and that's it. James Toney and Bernard Hopkins were skilled middles, neither could land much on Jones, who would have just about ever edge over Ketchel.

To be fair, Ketchel would have thrice the workrate of Hopkins. Hopkins was too defensive minded in their fight

Ketchel's triple shift could throw RJJ off

Ketchel is an all-time top 10 middleweight without a doubt. But this is one that the old-timers lose to the modern fighters.

Jones would have to be aggressive under that rule set - if it started getting into trench warfare and a wrestling match that would suit Ketchel. And of course Ketchel has a puncher's chance.

So Roy would want to end it quickly and he would. Jones by spectacular KO inside 3 rounds.

I think Ketchel's aggression would play into Roy's hands. Roy was quicker so it would be about who could get their punches off first. Ketchel was a great puncher, of course, so a KO win for him is a plausible prediction but I think Jones edge in speed and ability to counter PLUS his own power are why Jones would get the knockout punch in first.

Roy Jones Jr is my pick. 168 is his best weight, and he wouldn't allow Ketchel to make it longer distance.

Why people always assume that when fighter is better he would KO his opponent within 3 rounds? It's completely unrealistic and Jones fought longer with far worse and far less durable fighters than Ketchel.

Ketchell would be giving up a lot of size. A lot of his early fights were at welterweight, he wasn't even a big middleweight with same day weigh ins at 158.

Thing is, he could really punch, certainly hard enough to KO Jones. I think with old school in fighting Ketchell lands something big in the clinch for the KO, while down on points, but probably fairly early in the 20 rounds.

Without old school clinching, Jones by points or maybe a late KO, Ketch was tough

Jones by 9 round rsc . Would be like Benn V Eubank 1, with Ketch putting pressure on Jones But Roy countering and chipping away at him .By the 9 th ,Stan s weary and bruised . Roy catches him suddenly and put s him on ***** St , he's battered on the ropes till it's over .
