This fight is so big it needs IMO a huge stadium none of this MGM Grand ****. I really wish Boxing would go back to its roots and instead of these 20,000 seat casinos and hotels get this gigantic fight in a stadium. Being its in March its probablly not a good idea for Wrigley Field or Yankee stadium but Dolphin stadium in Miami is said to be throwing its hat in trying to secure the fight.

  2. Any estimation on how much state taxes each fighter would have to pony up?

If the fight happens in a venue with > 30k, 50k capacity, the low end tickets will still cost >$300 except the worst view will be way shittier than the worst view @ MGM Grand.

I've said this before: You may as well have the fight where sports betting is legal. The sports betting & casinos in general will bring added revenue to the city that can't be matched simply by selling more seats. The high rollers will definitely show up for the fight & MGM knows this. Plus, having the fight @ Vegas means they can also sell tickets to CCTV viewing centers for the PPV price per ticket. There won't be any CCTV viewing centers outside of Vegas; at least not huge convention centers that can seat 5k-10k people per location. & like others have mentioned, Nevada tax laws will trump most other places.
