So yes, it WAS a liver shot, the same kind of hurt that stopped Virgil Hill, Ron Lyle, Oscar and a host of others.
Garcia was not the first, nor won't be the last, to fall victim to this under-rated weapon...the perfect liver shot.

I don’t think you answered as to who will win between Haney and Loma. Honestly Loma has been so good that I actually don’t notice natural size difference in many of his fights. I do think he losses are fair and square though. I think he was intimidated by Teofimo Lopez’s power.

I just told you. Loma is old and past his prime and he looked a pale shadow of his former self in his last fight and I'm not expecting him to look better next time out and if he somehow manages to turn back the clock there's a very high chance the ref/home judges will rob him just like they did against Salido, GRJ which was inexplicably scored a draw by one judge, and against Teofimo when he lost 119-109 on one card even though he swept the vast majority of rounds in the second half of the fight.

I don't even rate Haney that highly. Don't get me wrong, he's a good, skilled fighter who knows how to use his size and length against all these old men, leprechauns or old leprechauns he's fighting and then hug them to death with his ''skills'' when they do manage to close the distance. But most of his success is due to him being a massive weight bully welterweight beating up on blown up 126, 130 and average-sized 135 pounders who cannot deal with boxers their own size and old men. Shakur and Twink impress me much more.

Sometimes the judges get it wrong but I don’t think the issue is home cooking more incompetence. Yesterday all 3 judges failed to score round 2, 10-8 to Tank. One had it a draw the other 2 had it 10-9 to Tank. Imagine if it had been a close fight that came down to that round as the d3ciding factor! One thing I do know though is that a genuinely great fighter which I believe Loma is, is capable of rediscovering themselves on any given night. If he or Haney wins it will be down to their ability not age in my opinion.

It's clearly corruption most of the time and it ever so conveniently flows in the direction of the home fighter or A side, Olu.

That's out of order but the ref was letting Twink stiff-arm all night. I've honestly never seen a fighter stiff-arm that much and even though it was flagrant as hell the ref didn't give him a single warning for it even though he knows damn well it's against the rules.

Haney is not remotely as skilled as Loma. As said, he's good and skilled but Loma is a magician and one of the most skillful fighters in the history of the sport. Haney's skills aren't even proven against opponents close to his size, let alone ones who are bigger, much bigger or way bigger.

If Loma was remotely close to his size even this version would easily beat him, never mind a prime version or if he was bigger or much bigger than him. If Loma weighed one weight class more than him he would absolutely destroy him.

It was a decent score for the Garcia-Saludo fight however! Both this fight and Davis-Garcia were very easy fights to score.

Pros' opinions to counteract some of the chronically online Joe Schmoes':

"Love seeing all these boxing experts talking about how that hit wasn’t that bad   "
    - Joey Dawejko

"Art Bayless former cruiserweight champ stopped me with similar shot. They take yr legs out."
    - Lou Turchiarelli

"Perfectly placed it don't have to be thrown hard"
    - Derrick Webster

"I assure you it was that bad lol. Jerry Forrest hit me with a body shot. So bad made me start rethinking some ****"
    - Rich Carmack

"Garcia didn’t quit. He tried to ride out the body shot & his body gave way. Could tell from when his body lifted up that he was done, 5 seconds before he went down"
    - Sunny Edwards

"easy to judge from the couch, I remember Luke Campbell done it against Garcia and he woulda got up if he could but sometimes the air not in your lungs you can’t recover"
    - Anthony Fowler

"Everyone I’m seeing whom said Garcia should have risen have never taken a jab to the body let alone a full fledged liver shot"
    - Alex Arthur

"If you’ve never felt a liver shot, you can’t relate."

In the interest of being fair & balanced, however, the following pros have all expressed the viewpoint that García in their eyes could have beaten the count and chose to not:

    Keyshawn Davis
    Shawn Porter
    Tony Harrison
    Paulie Malignaggi
    Ishé Smith

Congrats to Tank. He was the better fighter and exposed Garcia as a pretty boy social media fighter. That liver shot was well placed. Garcia fought a dumb fight, ignored corner instructions and was undisciplined. Maybe he knew the weight drain was going to ruin his chances of sustaining power in late rounds but it was obvious early that he did not have the skill to beat an opponent with Davis’ skills.

It was a hard one for me to call because I don’t like either guy. Garcia is a hypejob who was exposed. I never liked his fake confidence and immaturity. I also do y like the hype behind Davis, a guy who doesn’t even hold a real belt at 135. Looking forward to seeing him against the best in the division.

After tonight’s fight, I think Cruz beats Garcia. Lucky for him he avoided that fight because he would have missed this payday. Not sure he has a future in the sport because he doesn’t have elite skills. He can beat bums but eventually he has to fight another good opponent and I don’t think he beats top guys at this stage. He needs to fight more often and improve a lot. Too big to make 135 and not close to being ready to challenge top guys at 140. We could see him fighting those YouTube guys at some point.

Personally I would give Garcia the benefit of the doubt but even his former stable mate Andy Ruiz Jr does not believe Garcia. Anyway let’s move on because it’s all a bit unpalatable.

Without question, Loma was one of the best fighters I have ever seen. In his prime in the proper weight division, no one beats him. His greatest nemesis was his ego. He had no business fighting above 130.

Loma was never quite given the accolades he deserved. Especially after he moved up and started fighting bigger fighters.

Not sure that is 100% accurate. I think the real issue is the extremes on both sides of the argument. Yes as you know I believe him to be an unbelievable generational though he was beatable at certain points. The hatred some have for him should be viewed as a compliment that he is so good. All the greats seem to be hated. Look at the irrational hatred Floyd gets. Maybe it’s a reflection of the times we live in. I picked Teofimo to beat him and I was in the minority opinion. It was not because Teofimo is the better fighter or will be in all time great rankings but rather because I perceived a stylistic problem for Loma which played out. Yes Loma has been a magical fighter and maybe he still is. If I were Haney I won’t be sleeping on Loma that’s for sure.
