Strangely enough, I don't recall seeing this one done before. 12 rounds. How does it go?

Good matchup. Starling was the more technically sound of the two, better counterpuncher, and far more adept at in-fighting... BUT... I can't help but feel that prime Mosley's handspeed would be really problematic for Starling. Plus, while I can't envision Starling doing any damage to Mosley, I could see Shane hurting Starling.

Close fight, but I think Mosley lands the more telling blows and wins a deserved decision.

I'd slightly lean toward Starling but yes Mosley's speed might be an issue.

At 147 it's a toss up for me. Valid points here. I could see Starlings high guard really frustrating Mosley. Tough call

At 147, I will take Starling on points in a good fight.

If Starling didn't coast lazily or **** about as he was sometimes wont to do, I'd favour him I think, albeit in a good fight. He more or less held his own with a peak Curry - who wasn't far removed from Shane's level of speed and a sharper, more refined technician - and probably could have taken their first fight had he applied himself. His defensive skills were excellent with that high, earmuff guard and he was physically strong with a very good inside game. Not the type who Mosley would be able to walk around the ring or throw about like he did Margarito, but definitely the type I could see Shane becoming frustrated and disheartened against if he was unable to get on top of things early. A smaller but more refined Winky, though it isn't exactly fair on Mosley to use those fights as an absolute yardstick.

Mosley though was for a brief time a genuinely excellent fighter before he became reluctant to let his hands go post-Forrest. And I think that Starling would definitely occupy the range that Shane liked to fight at without running or using the type of peripheral movement that could trouble. Mosley would hit him for sure, enough to take his share of rounds. I just think he'd hit arms and gloves a tad too much while shipping a few too many sharp counters.

    Starling 8-4.

That's about how I see it.

I just don't like Mosely's hand placement. Not against this guy. He'll get countered. Those low hands see's him getting hit. And Shane is going to have a real real tough time penetrating that defense. His connect % might be in the 15 to 20% range. But of course he'll throw a lot more.

Marlon wins a close one over Shane. And he could take Floyd and Manny as well.
