Stas Kashtanov vs. Karoly Balzsay & Vyacheslav Senchenko vs. Marco Avendano RBR

Be aware of two things:

1) this is on about twenty minutes' delay.

2) I am at work and may have to abandon this for stretches (or altogether) at any time.

 

Round 1

Kashtanov is zipping around in quick circles, throwing powerfully thrust jabs and dropping some hooks to the body. Balzsay reaches with his lead right but falls short most of the time and has to spend most of his time raising and lowering his arms to block various attacks.

Round 2

Lots of movement from Kashtanov, giving Balzsay many different looks as he opens with jabs, low hooks and looping rights with about even distribution. Balzsay is still defending well and stepping in circular rhythm with Kash but the reach is killing him. He isn't getting any good shots through.

Round 3

Kashtanov is really planting his knuckles solidly above Balzsay's right ear with his hook. Kashtanov is boxing very nicely but lookin a bit gassed and Balzsay is beginning to land some stiff jabs on his face. Freddie Roach hops on the ring apron at the end of the round looking a bit nervous.

30-27 but tightening up.

 

Round 4

Balzsay pesters Kashtanov with a busy right jab. Balzsay is invading his space and turning him rapidly, firing lots of jabs and some right hooks to the body. Good combo by Balzsay while moving, right hook to the body and a soaring left to the chin. Kashtanov is tripping over his own feet a bit and looks uncomfortable. Balzsay snipes him with lead lefts out of a high guard while pressing forward. Kashtanov tries to back him off with long right hands but can't shake him. Now a fierce double hook to the body by Kashtanov, buys him a moment. Balzsay ignores the body shots and stays on his man like glue, working both hands prodigiously. Good stuff by Balzsay, forcing the infight but not staying still. Now Balzsay hops around, changing directions and confusing Kashtanov. Wild dipping left hook to the body by Kashtanov is dodged. Balzsay keeps hopping and popping.

Round 5

Balzsay keeps boxing on the outside behind his right jab, dodging the frenetic body hooks of Kashtanov. The hooks to the body far outnumber the southpaw jabs, but Balzsay is landing cleaner and meaner and getting the 1-2 through on occasion as well.

Round 6

Balzsay is really powering through with hard straight left leads to the body. Kashtanov is shifting his weight back and forth rapidly and ducking up and down, wasting some energy. Kashtanov is also wasting by flurrying and missing. Balzsay just times him and moves his head before popping hard, shor counters into the chest and chin of the taller man. Nice left hands getting through for Balzsay. Kashtanov flurries at his gloves after a particularly ostentatious spiraling move. Kashtanov lands a very solid right hand that knocks Balzsay back a step, but doesn't steal him the round.

Round 7

Balzsay torpedos his left into Kashtanov's middle. Kashtanov circles left and tries to set up his jab. Balzsay is turning smoothly and finding him with right jabs and left crosses. Kashtanov covers up while tip-toeing by at arm's length. Hard right jab by Balzsay breaks through the guard. Clubbing left hand lead knocks it down a moment later. Kashtanov starts trying to reverse the momentum and crouch his way in, but eats some right jabs. Hooking combos by Kashtanov charging in wide with his wings spread out, and he hits all elbow. Balzsay is ripping him with short sawblades inside. Nice right jab by Balzsay. Kashtanov is a standing target, hopping in place. Now Kashtanov gets in a good right hand, snapping Balzsay's head back but again not enough to steal the round.

10-9 Balzsay, first lead tonight for him.

Round 9

Kashtanov is staying in motion, dropping hooks to the body every time he passes Balzsay's right side. Balzsay now winging some left haymakers and missing as Kashtanov keeps well clear of him. Kashtanov slipping some right jabs with quick neck tilts as well. Kashtanov landing his own left jab with some consistency now but paying for it as Kashtanov counters with the straight 1-2 to the face.

Kashtanov now looks the part of a Freddie Roach trainee, in close-knit full sprint around his opponent and flinging out quick high-handed combos. Balzsay is trying to gun him down with a tired-looking right jab and going through the motions of hooking to the body, but he looks a bit defeated. Presumably rounds 10 and 11 went Kashtanov's way as the emerging pattern held.
