I gotta be honest. I don’t know how people still enjoy this sport without gambling on it. Betting on boxing is the easiest sport to bet by a million miles. Bc it’s the only sport where you can often win when you don’t even win. Just keep betting the A-side every time and you’ll come out ahead in the end. Lecture aside, in all seriousness, what about boxing do people still enjoy if they remove the gambling aspect? It stopped being a sport like 20 yrs ago. It’s a glorified shell game. We get “the big fights” like 2 or 3 times a year. We have to incessantly hold our breath to get the fights that mean the most. I’m honestly shocked we are getting Spence vs Bud at all.
I’ll never forget the feeling when I put a couple thousand dollars on triple G in the Clenelo rematch. You’re right, A side wins 95% of the time whether it’s right or wrong.
No wonder you're still so bitter over that. That explains a lot, you lost a couple of grand betting on GGG over Canelo. Not only do you feel like GGG was robbed, but that you were actually robbed of your winnings.
AJ was the A side fighting in his own backyard and lost to Usyk on the scorecards. Clenalo was the A side fighting in the states and lost to a Russian on the scorecards.
And both still tried to rob the rightful winner. So even the two best case examples you provided had a level of manipulation/corruption…That’s the point
I definitely sympathize with frustration about corruption in the sport and big fights getting made. I still enjoy boxing bc watching ppl fistfight just kinda rules.
IBF is having Dubois a the mandatory for Usyk. And the robbery between Kambosos and Hughes was also a IBF title eliminator. The IBF sucks. And there are too many belts as it is.
