Nothing wrong with that in fairness, if he'd been that humble for his career then he'd have a lot more fans. Should retire though.
Banged up inside at 19 to self made millionaire (through his companies) and Olympic Champion and European Champion. As Jeff said not everyone can be a world beater..he done well for a guy not really cut out mentally for Professional Boxing. He just didn't perform IMO...
I once sent him a message on facebook that he never replied that I was a bit gutted about, but he seems a nice bloke and there is far more tragic things then a millionaire getting stopped fighting for a world title. Embarassing for him, perhaps but hardly sad.
I saw tears welling up in his eyes when he had interview outside hotel. I re watched the fight last night...his plan just never worked..that's all.
If he hadn't been an Olympic champion we'd have said he was a decent fighter who wasn't good enough on the world stage. How much of his arrogance was marketing and how much was genuine belief we'll never know, but he's done more than all but a few boxers ever manage and has nothing to be ashamed of.
Would love to see footage of him sparring the likes Of Brewster, surely if he is preforming like the way he does in the ring against the likes of Brewster he knows this aint the game for him? Probably does ok in the gym and it all falls apart on fight night?
