Fair play to him and Haye for conning the general public, making millions and ruining boxings reputation for many. Will go down as the biggest bum to fight for a world title and will always be pound for pound champ for having no heart.
I don't hold any blame at all at Audley Harrison. He was never good enough and everybody with a slight interest in boxing knew this. Haye, on the other hand, is laughing all the way to the bank at the expense of the casual fan who will now turn their backs on the sport. He's a despicable character.
That's ****, really. This was a mismatch, but I'm not sure it rivals the worst of Hatton or Khan. Relatively speaking, it made more sense than Klitschko - Chisora.
It was obviously a mismatch from the start. As Jim Watt said, Audley just fought the way he always fights.. it's no surprise. We have seen him do exactly the same thing in all of his fights and it was never going to change in the Haye fight. The whole fight left a bad taste in the mouth though and it's hard to see so many casual fans shelling out 15 quid for a fight again. Ultimately, the entire event was very bad for boxing.
Couldn't help but feel a bit sad when thousands of people started chanting "you're **** and you know you are", when he was leaving the ring the other night.
It's the most high profile, hyped up mismatch I have ever seen. Haye obviously knew it was all along but he's turned into a media *****, content to **** over the casual fan for the sake of some easy money. Klitschko - Chisora may well be a mismatch but you ain't gonna be fed anywhere near as much bull**** hype about that one are you?
I get people being mad about the money but it's hard not to feel a bit sorry for the guy. He needs to hang em up now
As has already been said, Audley fought the way he always fights, he simply was nowhere near good enough to get a title fight and everyone knew that. You can't blame Audley for fighting the way he always fights and getting whipped. There's only one reason this fight happened, it was never Audley's decision and he'd have been a fool to turn it down. The only thing that allowed this disgrace of a fight to take place is David Haye. Haye is getting away with this whole diabolical far too lightly and deserves to be ridiculed in at least the same way that Audley is.
"To David Haye, I'm grateful for the opportunity to fight for the world title and I'm glad we buried the bad blood between us. I wish you well in your attempts to unify the titles and you have my support. This is why I absolutely love boxing. So much respect from fighting.
