Wlad obviously feels that Haye has some kind of advantage because Haye come off a victory of Ahrrison and he (meaning Wlad) did not have a bout in December.

But at this point in his career, there is no excuse for Wlad to not face Haye directly. After all, this is the fight he mots wanted.

I posted this in another thread, but I suppose it's just as relevant to this thread. This is my (maybe optimistic) take on the situation. I like to think I'm pretty objective about this and don't tend to side with fighters for emotive reasons (except when I'm trying to wind up some fanboys!)

I'm going to say that I genuinely think both parties want the fight. BUT the whole thing seems a pathetic mess.

Wlad doesn't want to stay inactive for too long and wants a tune up and to make some £s in the meantime, which is fine and makes sense to me - although I have to admit the 8 week turnaround does seem a little ambitious and risky (this is boxing - you NEVER know). I can completely understand Wlad's view here.

If Haye's motivation for not signing is because he wants to fight a rusty Wlad - then that's a ****s move and **** him.

However, I feel that him not signing because Wlad is fighting in April is probably more to do with it being his last year in the sport, the venue being in Germany, wanting a big fight in the summer and maybe to a lesser extent being pissed that Wlad would potentially jeopardise the fight when it is so big and worth so much that.

If something happens to Wlad and the fight can't go ahead in July then it's not as if Haye has a UK venue where he can just ship in another opponent and fight (as Wlad did in Germany when Setanta went under). All of a sudden he's a few months from retirement with a contracted Sky PPV date but no venue and less than 8 weeks to find a suitable 'big fight' opponent.

I wonder if he is thinking that if he can't get Wlad then he'll try and secure Adamek, which would have been pretty hard to do with under 8 weeks notice? I can't think of any other potential opponent bar VitKlit (who has Solis lined up).

The whole thing is a **** sandwich, but I think Haye should just have signed and rolled with it, although at the same time you could just say that Wlad could wait 8 weeks and we have a concrete fight . It's not as if there's really anything else for either fighter.

The whole situation is a sad indictment on the current state of boxing

Arguing like that no boxer would ever do a tuneup fight before a big clash.

Seems to me that Haye is ready to fight, it's wlad who is bullshitting. Why cancel the chisora bout then say you will work on getting the haye fight sorted then reschedule the fight 8 weeks before you fight haye. You really think Wlad and his team is that stupid. He knew what was gonna happen when he made that claim. Haye may have bitched out of the deal last time round due to setanta going into administration, but this time it is wlad who is pissing on the toilet seat. And it stinks.:deal

Wlads fighting in april, an in 2009, wlad found out how tricky hayes is, saying this, why now is hayes complaining, he still got the fight, an if wlad does get injured, hayes will have 2 months to get a replacement, i sure this won't hurt hayes at all.
Hayes a belt holder an fans want these title fights, but there getting it. Who the hell is hayes to tell wlad he can not fight in april, i mean what is he the UK verison of Don King, is he the boss or what,,,,,

Wlad going to be around for many more years, an there will be another david hayes, running his mouth, bothering wlad while he is at dinner or fuctions to feed africa, there will be another punk like hayes who will talk about his family, chrisora has already done so. He needs hayes on his resume, like he needs hayes mother in his bed, it would be gratis that is all.

Don't get me wrong, i want to see the fight, but as a fan of the klitschkos an knowing what hayes pulled in 2009, an knowing he has nothing to lose with the april fight, except maybe fighting chrisora in title fight instead of wlad. besides that highly unlikly last event i described, were is hayes missing out

Haye doesn't want to get a replacement he want's to get wlad now.

All wlad has to do is beat chisora and say he pulled a muscle and the fight is pushed even further back, leaving haye without an opponent and rusty as hell. He knows sky is booked up for april, so how would haye find an opponent to fight so quick and then fight wlad in july. It's not happening and wlad knows it.

And their Klitschko counterparts are any better? As always the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but people prefer to hug nuts and fling ****.

    The site is a shithole

There are nuthuggers on both sides but the truth doesn't really lie in the middle. Looking back over the behaviour of Haye since 2008, it's fair to say Haye's team must shoulder the majority of the blame. Not saying the Klits were perfect but to say they are both equally at fault for the whole fiasco is codding yourself.

By taking the Chisora fight, Wlad unnecesssarely jeopardizes his arguably career defining fight against Haye. The Chisora fight is not worth it, I think Wlad will beat Haye without taking a tune up. At this point in your career you have take a minimum of risk, he can fight all the Chisoras he wants after the Haye fight. It seems to me that Wlad wants to minimize risk and accordingly his legacy is likely to suffer from this attitude.
