Very sad news when someone dies at such a young age. I wish Kats & his family all best wishes thru a tragic moment.
It's just been announced that Mick is not coming back from Thailand to attend the funeral, this can only mean one thing, he isn't going to break training and the fight against JMM will proceed as normal.
Just been announced on foxsports that his fight has been postponed. if he isn't coming back it probably means those that said police wanted to question him relating to a drug matter were probably correct
:huhbut he wanted a July 31 fight in Australia accortding to this article. http://www.talentbrothers.com.au/uncategorized/katsidis-sorry-amir-khan-marquez-diaz-winner-is-mine/ Ive heard Katsidis had recently asked the WBO for permission to take a fight on July 31 in Australia. The request was denied because Katsidis is the mandatory to Marquez, and WBO president Paco Valcarcel expects him to fight the Marquez-Diaz winner before the end of the year.

AUTOPSY results on the body of champion jockey Stathi Katsidis have failed to determine an exact cause of death. Katsidis, 31, was found dead in his home at Hendra on Brisbane's northside on Tuesday by his fiancee Melissa Jackson. Katsidis had spent a night drinking heavily at home with two friends. Ms Jackson's father, Tony Jackson, who is a police officer, said the autopsy report was inconclusive and the exact cause of death would not be known for several months. “The autopsy report came back yesterday and was inconclusive,” Mr Jackson said. “His heart was fine and there was no trauma and we'll have to wait now for toxicology results which could take several months.” Mr Jackson said Katsidis' body has been released and a funeral service is expected to be held in Toowoomba next Tuesday. Theres a small bit in todays Border Morning Mail along with a story about Brown wearing Katsidis silks to honor Katsidis. The small bit is Titled Death Mystery to Fiancee. Stathi Katsidis death will forever remain a mystery to his fiancee Melisa Jackson. Jackson has revealed she has no reason to believe Katsidis may have turned to drugs in the week the champion rider was set to partner Shoot Out in Saturdays $3 million Cox Plate at Moonee Valley. Jackson confirmed she has gone to bed after quarrelling with Katsidis on the night of his death. "I dont know what happen and i never will," she said on radio yesterday. Jackson belives Katsidis death should be a warning to others who use alcohol excessively. "He was drinking at home and i didnt want to fight with him so i went to bed,"she said. "Alcohol doesnt go well with a lot of people. I want to make people aware it can lead to disastrous things. Alcohol is not the answer" Police ruled out foul play or suicide.
Makes sense, not touching drugs before a major race. There may be something in the 'lots of alcohol consumed by a jockey struggling to maintain his weight' thing. Heart attack?
the heart attack wont be due to too much alcohol....another substance that is effective at supressing appetite but not good for the ticker when taken in large amounts..okey doke...
she believes he may of suffocated. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/.../story-e6freoof-1225941887280?from=public_rss
