I must say, a few weeks ago I was suspecting comeback, but now I'm having doubts. On his twitter, he talks about training etc, and in some of the pics he posts he looks slimmed. But, it some more recent photos he looks just as fat as usual. When asked about his return in regards to an article on twitter Hatton had this to say: "all over the box, but not on here? Don't you think if a comebacks on you'd here it from me?its everywhere & I havnt said or done a single interview.ha ha." It's happening and it's still a **** idea. The guy done more for British boxing than anyone in recent memory and he's about to tarnish a wonderful legacy. Truth is,Ricky was never that good to begin with, but he's one of the best examples of making a little go along way.Now he has everything going against him and I don't want it to happen. I know what you're saying Meazy but I'm convinced it's a goer.
Boxing is littered with guys who felt good in retirement. Listened to the wrong advise, including their own ego, and pulled the gloves on again. Most totally regret they did. Probably nearly all of them.
Ricky was a very good fighter and under-rated boxer, he was a very successful amateur with a lot of hype around him when he turned pro, unfortunately he abandoned his boxing skills from the Tszyu fight onwards and just relied mostly on mauling and footspeed
doesnt matter if he picks up a few losses fans are too fickle these days He might win some good fights Im happy to see him back myself
It does matter though, nobody wants to see Ricky taking a pounding from somebody who wouldn't live with him at his best. I mean, look at Rickys weight fluctuations during his career, and look at what hes been up to since his retirement, throw in his all action style and how does that lend well to a comeback, can you really see him being half as good as he was during his best days?
I think you know what I meant BB.I can actually remember that days when Ricky had a jab. But given his lofty status on the world stage,he wasn't that good, but he had the determination and made use of what he did have to take it very far.Even the Ricky that beat Tackie didn't make me think,"you know,Ricky has the tools to beat Mayweather"
If he gets back with his original trainer, he could get some good euro-level wins, make some money, help his promo company get on the map. Personally, I don't wanna see him get beat up (who does?) but I love the guy and would love to see him get some W's in front of his home crowd while he's still on the small end of his 30's. He'll still be an exciting fighter. :deal
Ah sorry, Pity, I forgot myself for a second and thought you were maybe an American who hadn't seen much of Hatton pre Tszyu, only recognised you there
And Eamonn Magee, under-rated performance against a top form Magee (one of the few times he actually bothered training for a fight, even if he was still on the **** a week before )
