my trainer is an old guy and his english isn't great but he knows his stuff and is the best trainer ive been with

he tells me stay on my toes 247 but the balls of my feet start hurting like hell after 3 rounds tip toeing. shouldnt i come off my toes at least sometimes? my back foot is ALWAYS off the ground but often my front foot is flat. should i try to correct this and is it ok to go flat footed on my front foot when im out of range?

also can anyone give me some damn tips to help me keep my left arm up i keep dropping it to my belly all the ****ing time cause it gets so tired from constantly jabbing.

Try working out with 2-4 pounds hand weights each day. The kind of workout i do with hand weights makes my arms and shoulders alot more stronger so i don't have worry about them getting tired. Also keeping your hands up is mental, you have to keep reminding yourself throughout sparring or in a fight. What im working on right now is mental

I'm no expert, but you shouldn't always keep on your toes. You need to sit down on your punches with the right technique to maximise power, being on your toes all the time will affect that and your balance. You dont want to look like Yuri Foreman.

What he really means is, when your moving and dancing stay on your toes. Not when your about to snap out some punches. If your caught flat footed moving around you could be in trouble. If your on yours toes you can quickly side-step or pivot to their weak side.

You shouldn't really be on your toes. Your weight should be on the balls of your feet. You shouldn't be on your tip toes though.

From what I learned (orthodox stance):

Jab- left foot flat, right heel stays off ground
Straight Right- left is flat, right heel off ground (while right pivots)
Left hook- left heel off ground (while left pivots), right foot is flat
Moving around ring- left stays somewhat flat, right foot stays on ball

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
