A lot of pain is mental. If you choose to let it effect you then it will. The less you focus on it the less painful it will become. Just get back in the ring and focus on what you will do to the other guy. Don't focus on how painful it's going to feel if he hits you again. That will just make it hurt worse.

I remember when I got hit by a straight right to the body which almost killed me. I was already knackered as it was, the punch just took it all out of me. I couldn't get my breath back at all, and when I did get up I almost threw up over the fella who I was sparring.

This. It's how you react to the pain that matters. Getting punched hurts, you can accept that and carry on regardless or you can roll around on the floor crying like a little girl. Obviously there's exceptions, like a liver punch but that's different.

Unless you're physically injured, I don't see why you'd quit because you took a hard body shot?

dont be a *****, how can a body shot make you quit boxing? If thats the case boxing was never for you.
To be able to take body shots, you have to do body sparring or take body shots to get use to the pain. I have seen guys with buldging 6 packs but couldnt take a body shot for ****, we call them hollywood abs. Do lots of just body sparring it will condition your body for punishment.

i didnt quit boxing ---but ive seen people quit bcuzz of a shot like dat or harder wen dey get hit like dat dey muss think damn dis aint no game itz real in da feild understand dis da average boxer hits way harder den da average streetfighter ---dis is the best way i can explain it ive seen people amatures spar pros, and get hit wit a face shot or bodyshot and quit cuzz da punch they got hit wit is a 3000 times harder then what the average streetfighter is capable of---------------im tough very tough im a amature but i got my ribs broken by a pro and the next week i came to practice and spared and practiced with my broken ribs dnt question my toughness im very tough ---------ps i was winnen da spar dat my coach said to treat like a match da only reason i got hit wit dat bodyshot in da 1st place is becuzz i got overconfident bcuzz i was dominating a powerpuncher bcuzz of my speed and defense datz da reason i got hit wit da body shot bcuzz da way i was winnen gettin a bodyshot like dat was da lastthing on my mind bcuzz i was winnen i thout i was superman da punch let me kno i was human and aneways who ever said i stayed down i got back up and finished da round wit watever i had left wen i blacced out and went on autopilot

If you sparred the week after, I very much doubt your ribs were broken. Even if you did, that proves your stupidity, not that you are "very tough".

If you've been boxing for 4-6 months and you've won fights against people that have boxed for 2 years that means they sucked. Don't get too overconfident.

    What is your boxing record?

virus b4 i ansa question i juss want to let everyone and sprawla kno

when i took da bodyshot i must of had 1 months boxin experience i was a streetfighter b4 i was a boxer that punch let me kno boxins a whole notha level den street fighten-----------anewayz now have been boxin for 4-6 months deaz a big difference me now with 4-6 months expereicne woulda beat me when i had 1 months experence very badly---and sprawla if you come to ri to my gym we can spar it dnt matter dat u got more experience den me its da principle of da situation--------- srry virus i juss had to clear dat up now 2 ya ?

i was supposed to fight in the ne golden gloves but i couldent because of a injury i didnt hav my 1st fight yet but coach brought in people from other gyms that been in fights like 4 and 0 or 8 and o and so forth------or dat hav alot of experience been boxing for 2 years, or a lil more and when my coach tells dem to treat it like a match and go 100 percent and for me to treat like a match 100 percent and i beat them its because i hav alot of natural talent thats why im able to do wat i do with only 4-6 months boxing experience but virus ill tell you dis bcause of how fast my hands are my coach said if i fought in ne golden gloves rite now at heavy wieght i would win by decision very easily bcuzz my hands have the speed of a light welterwieght and my punches are extremly acurate----but ima remain humble ima put videos up soon so dat you can giv me tips ok virus?????? bcuzz iam also assumin you hav been boxin way longer den me --------
