OK I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem but a lot of times when I'm sparring or fighting, the Adrenaline in my system takes over and I end up swinging wild hooks like I'm in a street fight. I plan beforehand to use my Jab and Box clever and I know I can do this as I've done it before but a lot of the time I just end up going crazy and any plan ends up going out the window. I know its impossible to stop the Adrenaline and the 'fight-or-flight' respone but does anyone have any tips on how to stay in control when it happens? Is it as simple as mentally forcing yourself to stick to your plan or is there anything else to it?

    Experience helps.

I have had a few fighters with this problem in the past. What I do is watch for the 'red mist', and when things get towards that point, I pull them from the sparring and give them 100 burpees, once the burpees are complete, they have 30 seconds to ponder what's going on, and then they get to spar again. If is continues, they get pulled and hit the showers.

Untamed agression is of no use to anyone. Adreneline is a good thing, but you have to be able to control it.

i try and use my adrenaline to make me more aware of whats going on in the fight. maybe before the fight starts, just keep thinking about slipping punches and defense so when you see punches coming, you have that burst of adrenaline telling you to get out of the way. hope i could help.

Yep, it's tough, but it does get the message across.

Teach yourself Discipline and respect, if not some one at your gym will be willing to teach you.

Think about what your doing concentrate on your work, if you get angry your technique will be awful.
