Apparently WBO has ordered Purse Bids? March deadline with minimum bid of $300,000 The World Boxing Organisation has ordered a contest between its WBO super-middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz and British title holder George Groves to be put to purse bids on March 12th in Hungary. Stieglitz, 30, is currently pencilled in to defend his title against former WBC king Mikkel Kessler on April 14 and would then be in line to face Groves in the summer at the purse bid winners' convenience. Groves, who also holds the Commonwealth title at 168lbs, meets Kenny Anderson just days after the purse bids are due to be handed in and the 23 year-old now looks set for a shock world title bout earlier than expected if he can dispatch Anderson for a second time at Wembley Arena.
