...over or under from your initial thoughts?

Fat Dan said "I dont know the exact figure but I am told by a source who would know it was not a million but very high six figures. I'd guess like $800 to $900K."

Correct me if I'm wrong here but I've read that Cotto came in north of 165 pounds against Mayweather, he seems to rehydrate significantly no matter what he weighs in at... so he isn't a small middleweight on fight night at all.

Cotto is smart though. He is an old man; has a broken face and a weakened heart. He knows his body and mind couldn't go 3 rounds with Golovkin. Period.

True he's never going to do a Geale and come in near 180 but he isn't this tiny man that he makes himself out to be.

So what's that...about 5 percent of what cotto will earn against canelo?

Cotto is a hall of famer and a boss in this game....will earn more in Nov than ggg prob will in his career

Good deal for K2, they got step aside money and the winner has to face GGG or vacate the belt.
Canelo and Cotto can have 10 rematches without the belt for all we care.

Lol at thinking the WBC won't play games if canelo and cotto want to rematch or the winner wants floyd

Even if the belt is dropped.....and ggg fights, say heiland for the vacant belt .....then what? We're still nowhere different than we were yesterday .....we won't know anything more about ggg than we do now......hell be almost 35 and still nothing to show for it ....but some money and a collection of nobodies on his resume

    Thats the GUARANTEE.

But since the fight is a PPV, GGG will get a % of the proceeds as well.

At least that's what a source inside K2 has led me to believe.

It was initially expected to be a 1.5 million flat fee. But since there was some hardball going on between Cotto Promotions and K2 promotions, GGG settled for a %, of which the 800-900K is only a guaranteed minimum. :think

Is it his fault that you consider almost everyone at 154 and 160 a nobody?
If you think most fighters at those 2 weight classes can't give GGG a proper challenge shouldn't be you be slamming them everyday to get better?

As he headlines his first PPV and picks up more belts higher quality opposition at 154/160 will be willing to face him. So that's a good thing.

He's fighting in his prime now at the most optimal division for his body which is 160. Just accept it and encourage other fighters to get better and give him a challenge.

The same things were said when BHOP was unifying, and even though no one expects GGG to fight on til his 50th BDay, BHOP earned his greatness through fighting who he had to as a MW.

GGG is gonna get his undisputed MW title come hell or high water, and to hell with what his haters have to say about it.

He'll be a PPV star and hold all the cards when it comes to making fights with up and coming MWs, LMW superstars who can't boil down to avoid him any longer, and SMWs who actually want to fight the best of this generation.

Unlike Abe, GGG actually has skills plus power plus an iron chin. And he doesnt need to hide away in Europe to sell tickets.
So there won't be any moving N unless it's under his preferences, and it won't be in Jokeland. :nono

Why do I want to encourage the Daniele geales and David lemieux everyday and encourage them to get better? They are what they are.....I can't change them.....do u want me to build a time machine and train lemieux for the Rubio and alcine fights?

These guys are what they are .....ya they are top 10 mw's.....ranked guys.....they just aren't very good and b minus level at best

    Yeah, very true.

But, GGG haters want everyone to believe that Cotto is a LWW.

Just because he was able to beat an aging Mosley and a nobody Quintana at the lower wieghts.
Fact is, that if Cotto was a black or white fighter, he'd be widely criticized for pciking on the weakest titlists in the divisions he's campaigned at, and had he fought any of the top 2 titlists in those same divisions, he'd never have won titles in said divisions. :think

    This coming from a fan.:deal
