    So you think he'd be P4P #1?

    I know he dealt with Willard, but I don't see how he'd deal with some of the larger, much more skilled fighters like the Klitschko's, as they could certainly tag him coming in. Dempsey's chin is fine, but Firpo, someone not on the level of the Klitschko's, put him through the ropes as Dempsey was a smaller HW.

    Furthermore, a fighter like Haye with great timing and power could catch Dempsey coming in also, though Haye's own glassy chin doesn't make him the favourite in fantasy match ups by any means.

    I think he'd be a destructive Cruiser today, but would be too small for HW, just on physics and sport differences, I feel the same about Joe Louis as well.

    You have to remember that Tyson at his absolute leanest was 215 of solid muscle and had the jaw of a big HW, rather than what I believe Dempsey to be of a cruiserweight sized man.

    Dempsey could even make LHW today, imagine that John. Dempsey and Marciano both could make LHW and would have their punch, that KOed very large men, mostly in tact making weight. So it's very possible that Dempsey would be the top man from 175-200 and garner his high P4P rankings there.

    In response to your comments.

    Very much so.

    I think that Vitali Klitschko, at his best, could be somewhat challenging for Dempsey.
    He was a genuinely good heavyweight.
    I will do a Fantasy warfare match of these two very soon.

    If Haye has a glass chin, then Dempsey would smash it.

    I think that Dempsey could get to a decent heavyweight build, remember that he had alot of natural strength.

    I see your point, but it depends on who you ask.
    I know that The Ring magazine authors think that Dempsey would clean house in today's heavyweight division.

    You have bought forth some food for thought with this analysis.

    hard to judge those old fights by the footage....i cant give them too much credit or deny them too much...
