    Joe Louis versus Max Schmeling great stuff!

    More amazing they became friends later in life!

    Schemeling paid Louis's medical bills, is a true all time great, a dedicated philanthropist, and well deserved Hall of famer.

    Louis illegally punched Schmeling in the back, and broke his back in the rematch, fact.

    Louis should been Dq'd. Schmeling was discriminated against in America because he was a Nazi, and they couldn't care less that Louis fouled him, injuring him badly.

    All you have to do is watch the fight to see how badly outclassed Schmelling was. He was getting a little older, and Louis -- by the better natural talent to begin with -- had improved.

    Yeah, it should be pretty easy to beat someones ass, with a broken back that can barely stand up and can't defend themself!!! Schmelling was viciously fouled, no one cared.

    Another interesting fact is that both men became good friends and Schmeling helped Louis alot in his later years financially.
    Be sure to look out for the rematch between Louis and Schmeling next week in another Step back in time series.
