IMO bruno simply adapted better to the cold than lewis.

these were not normal fight conditions.

Bruno was at the top of his game and Lewis came in there looking for a quick finish. He encountered some difficulties but somehow found way a way to win - big - by KO.

    Dear Friends
    kind regards
    Thank you for your comments.
Frank Bruno is to be praised for his effort in this match up, he jabbed very well and threw good shots.
Lewis started to come on strong in the last few rounds and took Bruno out with ease.
Bruno always got weaker as a match at the highest level went on.
It is a worthy discussion whether Bruno would have been able to do the same thing to a prime Lewis.
    yours thankfully
    John

Bruno would give any version of most fighters a pretty rough time, at least for a few rounds.

    But....

You only have to hurt him bad and the fight is over. His ringsmarts were non-existent.

Bruno sometimes could be regarded as too 'tough' for his own being at times. When in trouble his defense just wasn't there and he took punch after punch before soon being stopped. I feel that Lewis would have had Bruno at any time in either's career but Bruno was a good fighter.

If Bruno had a decent chin and stamina, he would have won this fight - and he wasn't even in his prime for this fight. Tyson had already taken a lot out of him.

Wlad really is probably better than Bruno I think.

    BUT...

I have seen nothing in the last few fights, hell, just about all of Wlads post Sanders fights that Bruno couldn't have done. And the only things prior to that were skills related, not results related.

Bruno would have tore through a list of Iggy, Tony Thomson, Calvin Brock, Ray Austin etc.

In fact, those types of fighters were the type that Bruno absolutely butchered. I would put any money on the fact that Bruno would have stopped all of those guys far quicker, and far more assertively than Wlad.

I disagree, I'd take Bruno over Wlad. We can cee that Bruno can take good jabs but how is Wlad going to deal with someone who can jab with him and has knockout power ?

    Bruno by KO imo.

yup..big frank is criminally underrated and in my opinion is rarely given the respect a fighter of his stature deserves, either here or across the pond.....the only tiem io felt let down by the big fella was the second tyson fight..rabbit in the headlights and tyson was there for the taking in my honest opinion....

frank makes most of todays hw look like chumps...he was always in shape, had huge respect for his conditioning and the sport itself, and, in reality, MUST be one of the top ten hw power punchers of all time????.....

he may well have been a level below the elite in skills but he had a great career, and to my eyes is a genuine british sporting hero....he won the tilte in that lacklustre affair vs mcall...but he WON it in tthe ring and im sure that day ws the proudest day of his life....

just think, if big frank had been american, he would have been a genuine superstar with that physique and that power!!!..we brits only love a loser it seems but frank will always be a winner in my eyes....sorry for the sentimentality, but its how i feel!!

    That's the million dollar question.

Lewis was tough enough and good enough to hang in there on a bad night, and pull something out to win (dont' think bruno was quite as ahead as some people say, and was hardly 'out of ideas' as I've read).

Don't know if Wlad could do that.

I think his brother would be a better bet against Bruno, purely because of toughness.
