wow...what an embarassment... what the hell was akinwande doing? This is the first time ive seen this..no wonder he never got another shot...
that was an appalling performance by akinwande, mind you, if i had lennox lewis coming towards me i would hang on for dear life:roll:
Akinwande tasted the power and wanted no part of it - what a disgraceful coward. Easy for us to say, but you shouldn't be in the ring if you're happy beating up smaller guys but fold when faced with somebody who stands up to you. At least Tyson generally went out on his shield.
Haha, did you hear at about 8 mins Larry Merchant laughing and saying, "Look at him, he looks like an Oreo cookie there!" Here's one for the lookalike thread: Oreo cookie: This content is protected Lewis, Lane and Akinwande: This content is protected
That was a pretty rough time for the Nevada State Athletic Commission as Lane had disqualified Tyson a few weeks earlier for the biting incident. When you have consecutive heavyweight title fights like these it's not exactly good for business.
So if someone floors you with a punch followed by a headbutt, in your opinion is that legit and you just have to "deal with it"? :think :verysad
He was scared shitless. I've never seen that fight but oh my god that was a joke. I can't believe that ******* is still fighting.
I didn't watch the video, i remember watching the fight. it was one of the worst fights i've ever seen. Akinwande was a joke.
I had followed Akinwande since he was a skinny Amateur in the ABA's, He was a super talent but he also had to fight a certain way, Lewis knew that and prevented Henry from being effective. Lennox closed down the space Akinwande needed to work effectively, Akinwande was stuck between a rock and a hard place.. Henry only ever had a few bad nights, Lewis and McCall reduced him to defeat in different ways, Oleg Platov supposedly won in his homeland of Germany in the same way that years before Axel Shultz robbed Henry of victory and snatched a draw.. I never judge Henry on that showing.. Lewis was incredible, Akinwande was just a victim of his own limited style, he had no bullets for his particular gun..
