Stephen A Smith knows as much about boxing and combat sports as I know about sending a rocket to mars. He’s an idiot who shouts a lot.

Although to be fair he gets very well paid just to shout and interrupt people where as I have to work for a living so whose the idiot really.

I don't know how he (or anyone else) can say that Bud/Spence is a bigger fight than AJ/Fury and actually keep a straight face.

I guess some people just like being controversial for controversy's sake. Even if it makes them look foolish.

He’s paid to be an idiot and is doing a great job in that regard. Max agreed with him regarding Wilder deserving a shot at the title. He’s another idiot, although he’s more articulate. At least Max feels Wilder needs to beat a couple fighters to prove he deserves the shot, to prove he still has gas in the tank. Steven Smith feels Wilder deserves a shot right now, ahead of guys who have earned it.

I hope Wilder fights a couple times while he waits for his shot. He needs to prove his last loss was an anomaly, and that he’s not a bum killer exclusively. He needs to beat a credible opponent or two to earn a shot and wait in line to get it. I suspect he will sit on the shelf, dramatically beat a few washed up no hopers and whine until he gets a big fight with AJ or Fury. Both of those guys beat him with ease and he stumbles into the sunset, at least that’s what I expect to happen.
