For all the doubts that people had on Stephen Fulton ever since his loss to Naoya Inoue he managed to make a great comeback performance by outclassing Figueroa during the entire fight. Figueroa looked absolutely ponderous and clueless while Fulton was able to school him from all range, outside and inside. It wasn’t the most exciting fight to watch, especially considering how great the first fight was, but I appreciate the adjustments that Fulton managed to do by his smart boxing without letting Figueroa fight his fight at any given moment.

Very good performance overall. I’m curious where he goes from here. Probably not the best idea for him to pursue an Inoue rematch but he’s got other options for him to take.

Anyone actually think that Fulton wouldn’t win again? As for options there are none unless either Inoue moves up or Fulton himself moves up. Staying in the same division as Inoue is a career killer for him

Happy because it's an Inoue W that aged well

The popular opinion was that Figueroa would win handily, likely by KO

He has a better resume than Gervonta.

It didn´t. The rematch was atrocious, and Carlos Castro tapped Fultons ass one fight prior.

The number of future worlds champions is very impressive on Inoue's resume: Taguchi, Rodriguez, Donaire, Moloney, Fulton all picked up legit world titles after they got Monsta'd. That addition to a dozen reigning & former world champions also defeated. That's why his resume keeps improving: you fight top prime fighters and they'll keep elevating your resume further. Fulton is legit and beat up a far better fighter than Castro.

I saw some clips. Homie looked sharp..he is a world champion for a reason, he just ran into Inoue.

He was an underdog after the first fight.

Too many people threw Fulton on the trash heap after the Inoue loss. Fulton is clearly a very good world class fighter, he just wasn't on the level of a generational talent like Inoue, which to be fair the vast majority are not. I'm happy he has picked up another title, quality in the end shines through. He could be in some interesting matching ups at 126 with the other champions.

I’m honestly surprised how many people found it to be boring. It wasn’t like Fulton fought in a negative, run away style. Every time Figueroa attempted to bore into a phone booth Fulton took it to him and still beat him inside with better defensive positioning and accurate shots. Clearly Fulton wasn’t afraid to go toe to toe, Figueroa just didn’t have a plan B from the start.

I don’t know what went wrong with Figueroa and why he couldn’t impose himself this time but give Fulton credit for neutralizing Figueroa’s game. He broke the Heartbreaker’s heart last night. Plus, he won while wearing Timberland boots and jeans.

People were ranking Fulton close to p4p before the loss. Certain people (haters) wanted Fulton to lose because they didn’t want Inoue’s win to age well lol. The better a career Fulton has, the better Inoue’s resume gets…some can’t stand that.

A big part of me thought Fulton was happy with The Monster money and might just disappear. Glad to be proven wrong.

The lack of pop is always going to make life more difficult but then he knows how to grind it out too. A pretty well-rounded fighter is Scooter. The Castro fight was risky for a comeback. Managed to secure the later rounds. Two wins over Figueroa plus a win over Leo who sparked Venado Lopez. Not bad at all.

Inoue for me, right now, is the best fighter on the planet, so being shut out by him (in what many consider Naoya's finest performance) wasn't a fair gauge of how good a world champ he is.

I really do like Fulton. I think he's a very talented fighter with an incredibly well-rounded skillset. Wins over Figueroa, Danny Roman, Khegai, Angelo Leo, and Castro are nothing to scoff at. His size and lack of pop will make it a bit tricky for him to be the same force at 126 as he was at 122 but I do think he has the pedigree to be a top dog in the division.
