    Top of the hour.

Doors open at the Casino de Montréal at 6pm EST. Coverage on ESPN+ from 7:30pm EST.

Both the Calgary born Steve "The Dragon" Claggett and the Armenian-Québécois transplant Erik "B-Zo" Bazinyan rep Team Canada in NABF title bouts at super lightweight and super middleweight, versus a dangerous Puerto Rican southpaw and crafty Mexican veteran respectively.

Macias better kidnap those judges if he thinks he’s gonna win without a KO. Those Bazinyan-Fox cards were horrid.

Well that was just a wee bit premature. Strange stoppage.

No way in hell there's only an inch between them. Biś listed at 5'9" and Gaumont at 5'10" ...either one is wrong or the other.

Hahaha Bis got dropped very hard, the ref ruled a slip then saw the condition of the fighter and took up a count.

Biś rocked badly, then warned by the ref for essentially headbutting Gaumont in the weiner diving in for a clinch, then suffering a second heavy knockdown. Biś hanging in there, winging haymakers, exhausted, getting countered and hurt with uppercuts - and down again with 11 seconds left. Almost survived the round - but nope.

    KO2!

So have these promotors routinely been bringing in Mexican fighters for their local talent or what?

I don't like height differentials like that in such obvious squash mismatches, just on principle. Like yes, at elite level (or in any situation where there's parity in the matchmaking) height is a factor that can be canceled out by others, such as stylistic advantage, intangibles or work rate - but when you have a young unbeaten prospect with home court and the backing of a promotional or managerial outfit the older imported opponent with the sodden record clearly lacks - why pour salt on the wound by having such an on-the-nose visual emblem of the unfairness of it all?
