Round 7

Ormond is throwing jabs and rights to the body, grunting in time with them. They clinch and Dingsdale is spun to the ground, correctly ruled no knockdown by Hinds. Pause to fix tape on Ormond's glove. Dingsdale lines up a FLUSH counter right hand on the face as Ormond is flying in with more body shots. Ormond takes it well and keeps rushing Dingsdale, pounding his sides with both hands.

10-9 Ormond, really it was a peach but just the one big shot for Dingsdale.

Barry Jones had Dingsdale stealing the 7th on the strength of that one big whammy.

 

Round 8

Dingsdale is laying onto Ormond, digging his arm into his side and pulling him close. Ormond hits the body, then goes to work up top with his free hand. Dingsdale complains of a rabbit punch. Straight flurry to the face by Ormond, stunning Dingsdale. Clinch. Counter right by Dingsdale as Ormond comes in. Wide left hook by Dingsdale, around the lancing jouster jab of Ormond. Clinch. Uppercut off the jab by Dingsdale pushing out of a clinch and initiating another.

Barry Jones gave Dingsdale the eighth and has it very tight, Ormond up by a mere point.

 

Round 9

Dingsdale is circling and jabbing as Ormond whips left hooks up and over. Dingsdale forces a hook in past Ormond's and lands cleaner. Jab and grab by Dingsdale, nullifying the in and out attack of the clearly tiring and increasingly mouth-breathing Ormond. Dingsdale is jabbing Ormond between the eyes as he comes in and swats him with a cuffing left hook behind the neck, dropping Ormond to all fours. No knockdown. Clinch. Dingsdale scrapes an uppercut along Ormond's chest on the inside. Time out. Ormond lost his gum shield. Time in. Dingsdale ducks in past a flurry and clubs at the back of Ormond's head. Clinch. Ormond keeps hooking high but getting tied up. Hooks to the body by Ormond, caught on the arms. Lead right by Ormond jumping in. Dingsdale falls to the canvas. Hinds rules it a push. Time in. Clinch.

10-9 Dingsdale, could have been 10-8 had Ormond been docked a point.

Round 10

Dingsdale is throwing his 1-2 over Ormond's head. Clinch. Hinds is there pushing them apart. Dingsdale keeps the 1-2 flowing. Ormond is dancing around on the outside and now initiating the clinches. Sloppy uppercuts while holding with the other hand by Ormond. Dingsdale puts out a range-finder jab and digs an uppercut into Ormond's breastplate. Clinch. Push off by Hinds. Another clinch by Ormond. Dingsdale jabs over his head and gets grabbed and pulled down into a slump. Very scrappy now with Ormond flailing at the body and hugging constantly between outbursts. Dingsdale shoves Ormond into the ropes while held. Left hook, right hand by Dingsdale while sliding back. Ormond grabs as he gets hit. Ormond dives through an uppercut and ties up again. They circle each other with short stutter steps and collapse into a clinch when both jab. Body shots by Ormond, sloppy and missing, caroming off Dingsdale's hips.

:yep There were surely enough some competitive frames in the first eight and I could see one giving Dingsy the 3rd, 4th and 7th but for me he just wasn't doing enough to shift those close ones in his direction. Case in point the seventh, one huge right hand that Ormond never saw coming and it put him in a momentary daze, but look at the rest of it and it's over two minutes of the Rock outworking the challenger by quite a lot.

I wouldn't balk at someone having it closer, although Jones seemed overly keen to credit Adam.
