It is to be honest, Buckland looks a shadow of what he once was

    Round 7

Buckland is cleaving in on Dodd with high wrist-jerking left jabs chopped out from his own throat, posting up inside and looking to start going to work on Dodd's body. Dodd isn't staying in one place long enough for Buckland to get much going. Dodd walks Buckland onto an uppercut. Long jabs by Dodd, holding them frozen in place to keep Buckland from advancing, immobilized for Dodd to peck at with the right and, with a little shove off Buckland's forehead with his knuckles to launch backward, the left before the Welshman even knows the door is open.

    10-9 Dodd

    68-65 Dodd

Huh. So this match-up was made on just a few days' notice. Earlier in the week it was supposed to be the British lightweight champion Scott Cardle defending against Buckland over 12 rounds, with Dodd in a 6-rounder on the undercard.

Cardle pulled out and they cobbled this one together, originally scheduled for eight, until yesterday.

Now they're saying Dodd, if he pulls off the upset, could steal Buckland's crack @ Cardle. :think

Buckland is done. Goodness. I hope Dodd wins this. He really deserves it.

    Round 8

Buckland is laboring just to bury one heavy hook at a time into Dodd's bod. Dodd is landing flush combinations on Buckland's face, jabbing and uppercutting from outside comfortably, and gets Buckland to spit out his gum shield. Time in. Dodd is arm-weary, leaving his jabbing hand suspended limply in the air sometimes, but still doing just enough to keep Buckland at the end of it and doing clean work outside.

    10-9 Dodd

    78-74 Dodd

"I bet you wish you were in there right now :D"

    - commentator to Scottie Cardle sitting at ringside.

Pretty disrespectful to Buckland tbh.

This is like Kerry Hope's fight against Proksa.

OK-level fighter doing a fight of his life and I believe this guy will never be better than he is(was) tonight. This will be his career highlight. But on the other side Buckland is awful and shot to pieces but I don't wanna take anything away from Dodd tonight. He is fighting beautifully.

In fairness, Dodd's raised his game considerably, and accelerated surprisingly well in the second half of the fight.

Buckland needs a stoppage and he hasn't looked like getting one all night.

Dodd has looked relaxed and composed from the start, it's been a great performance by a huge underdog.

    Round 9

Buckland is eating southpaw jabs as he plods after Dodd. The best that Buckland can do now is bash at Dodd's ribs with the occasional glancing sidelong mace, grabbing hold of him when he does, exhausted, and having taken many clean jabs and uppercuts to get there. 1-2-upper combo working very well for Dodd.

    10-9 Dodd

    88-83 Dodd
