Stephen v John

I'm not writing him off mate. Its clearly effective and smart. But just nauseating watching it

 

John won both the fights and deserves better, he is a great fighter and willing to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime, he went to Ireland and beat a fighter everyone feared and gave up future opportunities at world level to take the Smith match, a fight he did not need, a fight that was not going to be easy, Smith was always going to fight to the finish and John Simpson was going to have to go through some pain to win it, but looking at the Judges appointed it was not going to be easy, the referee got too involved at times, repeatedly warning Simpson and allowing Smith to hold too much. I hope Simpson gets a European shot in the future, as I don't think Swifty will want anything to do with him anymore.

 

Great fight. A draw would'v been the right result for me. The first was never a 10-8, a great start for Smith, but I was thinking at the time, you better be fit kid cos your not putting him away. Simpson is one tough, relentless ****er. Barin the 1st for smith and the 8th for Simpson, all rnds were tight. I had the fight even, but can understand how John and Billy would feel hard done to. But it was'nt a robbery, the fight could'v gone either way. Hopefully one of them picks up a world belt and we could see it again....but dont think either would relish the thought.

 

Hard luck last night Billy it was a very close fight and to fair mate i had Smith by 1 round but last night Gallagher was exposed as a crap tactician by sending Smith out in the 1st to try and stop John knowing how hard John is what a dick, all the best mate and we all hope John can come again

 

Mate i feel gutted For John, i and loads of others have written complaints to the BBBofC about O`connar, do the same mate. Your complaint will add more fire. after watching the fight a 2nd time i score it 115-114 to Simpson, Switfy? no way Hugger is more like it.

It was a robbery imo. 1 and 2 went to Swifty and 3 was close but i gave him that too. 4,5,6,7,8,9, all Simpson and 10 went to swifty... and 11 and 12 John again.

 

shocking judging yet again.

 

O'Connors card was a disgrace and ridiculous. It's clear to see for everyone that John leaves everything in the ring, he's given us many great fights and to see him treated like this is very disappointing, sickening even.

Stephen Smith is a great fighter and I don't blame him for the excessive holding at times as it is early in his career and let's face it you are going to need a rest at some point in two fights with John Simpson.

There should definitely be some sort of Enquiry regarding O'Connor's card, followed by appropriate action.

 

Please make sure he doesn't walk away Billy. He's a credit to Scotland and British boxing as a whole.

He's got Lindsay's number and there are plenty of guys in that weight class at world level that Simpson is more than capable of taking on, beating and having some memorable nights.

I'm gutted for him.

 

As Simpson was the champ I thought smith didn't do enough to take the belt from him I'd give Simpson it by 1 worst a draw but personally not a smith win.

 

yeah I second that, John is a road warrior and deserves so much more than what he got last night.

and by the way how the feck can it be 10-8 round in the 1st when Simpson was still fighting back. It wasn't like round 10 Khan-Maidana.

 

the score cards were a joke but the right man won i had smith 2 rounds up was a close and tough fight but imo smith won both fights
