Stephen v John

He wanted Smith to win mate IMO. That's all i learned from last night when i saw 10-8 i nearly kicked the TV down. That riled me bigtime and then when a near similar round in round 8 happens but this time Simpson handing out the punishment for a sustained period he gives a 10-9. The last round Hailing says ''Simpson just doing that bit more...'' Woodhall is quiet but he wants to give round to Smith so in end he just gives a share of spoils.

What disgusted me about him last night was when it was all Smith everything was from his judging view point. Soon as Simpson got into it and was well on top he goes ''well it depends on the judges and what there looking for''. No Richie you judge the fight from your POV don't backtrack and hide behind what you think the judges might conjure up.

Simpson won that fight for me and i knew as soon as i heard O'Connor and Parris it was over. Such a shame cos tbh he was the better man last night Smith done well to hang in there and showed some qualities.

hard luck billy but i think it wasnt harsh to say smith won by a round
i had it even meself but it wasnt a robbery
alot of people are saying to you it was a robbery but i think in general people agree it was a cracking effort from simpson and had as much a shout of winnin d fight as smith but as i said before it was no robbery

john might have 8 defeats but hes still young and will definatly bounce back from this ive no doubt about it ...
what route does he take back??

i just cant see what smith did to win the fight, he had a good start but then simpson pretty much took over from there thought smith was hanging in there for long periods with simpson landing the bigger cleaner shots.... simpson definately won imo.

 

Thing is as well people on here said Smith would be better then last time he'd not have to hold because his hand is fixed and he would have experience of last time.

He didn't show much improvement to me only props i give him is he's decent and hangs in there when going gets tough other then that he's not amazing.

Lindsay beats him IMO.

 

I had Simpson winning by a round but it was close enough to go either way.

Scoring it to Smith by 6 rounds was a disgrace.

 

I don't understand where the Smith hype comes from?

He's fought journeymen with losing records and lost twice to Simpson.

This, when I watched it last night I originally thought Smith had sneaked it by a point but watching it again this morning I gave it to Simpson by 1. Terry O'Connor shouldn't be allowed to judge fights, this isn't the first time he's made an arse of it as well. Him, Dave Parris and Victor Loughlan are 3 who need to be put out to pasture.

Come on lads give Smith a bit of credit he didnt't score the appalling card he just fought his fight and won the decision at the end it was hard fought and I thought Smith won but could have gone either way and imo was a cracking effort by both lads.

Really well matched but Stephen has got the nod twice now and deserves credit for his performance as much as John deserves credit for his

 

I give him credit for conning the judges. I don't mean that in a rude way. His spoling tactics and celebrating at the end of each round swayed the judges. The aim is to win by any means necessary. Good on him.

 

Whats the stroy with John Billy? Will he still fight on? Id imagine hes fairly pissed off with boxing right now, and rightly so. But it would be a shame for an exciting boxer like him to retire after this.

Last night was shameful, especially after what happened in the first fight where Simpson certainly didn't lose and Smith didn't do enougn to take the title, thought last night was much worse though.

Hope Simpson fights on but can understand him not after yet another blow.
