It wouldn't be Saturday in California, no. May 7th is a Sunday. Japanese cards are never that early, that west coast Americans would still technically be on the previous day. Main events are usually about 7am or 8am EST, which is 4 or 5 in the morning Pacific time. People reported last month that it was going to land on a Tuesday in May, erroneously.
Japanese scene aficionados - what's the skinny on Yoshiki Takei? Seems he's being fast-tracked a bit. Taking on wild but tough Pinoy road warrior Ronnie Gorit Baldonado in just his seventh outing in the co-main event, and has already fought disproportionately good competition for his experience level. 6-0 with 6 kayos.
Ok. That earlier nonsense about the fight start time threw me off. I heard something like 9 in the morning in Japan. Makes sense now.
Can't believe we're finally close to it becoming a reality after the fight got postponed. Hoping the fight itself is entertaining. I think Inoue's got this in the bag but we'll see how Fulton handles Inoue's power and if he can make a much better effort than Butler.
I can't imagine that it won't be at least somewhat entertaining. (although the less entertaining the match is, the more that probably benefits Fulton!)
Of now 61 respondents. Still a small sample size in the grand scheme of things but yeah, you'd think there'd be at least one vote by now considering this being a new division for Inoue and Fulton being a pretty well regarded undefeated champ. Or at least a troll vote from an Inoue (or Inoue fans) hater.
Jesus, Inoue looks small. It's not easy to make Fulton look like a large man, but Inoue certainly does. I'm a smaller man myself and I look like I could eat Fulton for breakfast.
