He's a colour commentator. Adding value. Adding energy. True it can be too much sometimes, but without him its all abit, well, Woodhall.
I agree. Just because someone was a good boxer, doesn't mean they automatically know much about boxing in general.
I hear you DP. Give me a bit of Duke "his legs have turned to jelly!" Mackenzie instead of Richie "excellent jab" Woodhall anytime. Seriously folks, listen to how Woodhall gets all excited by the jab. The most boring punch in boxing. Sums Richie up really.
Bunce just doesnt have the composure to be subjective which is an essential trait for a boxing show host lol. Look on the bright side, at least its not Colin Hart
Colin gets on my last nerve. And when will he get rid of that stupid Syrup! Please dont tell me thats his hair!!atsch
I hear Morph might be in line to fight Enzo next, Mac says he is "very experienced" and a "real slippery character", Frank Warren predicts a great night of action.
He isnt a colour commentator - he's supposed to be the 'expert', ie Kellerman or Merchant on HBO. There is, uasually, a 'caller', an expert and a colour (well, on the decent American broadcasts). We dont have any good experts or callers.
Bunce is complete egotist idiot. Best team was Ian Darke and Jim Watt on commentary with Glen Mcrory Nicky Piper and Oliver Dempsey and Johnny Nelson in the studio.
atsch Ian Darke and Jim Watt on commentary makes boxing unwatchable -Darke isnt even a boxing journalist, references Ricky Hatton in every single round of every f'kin fight (hey, a Belerussian fighting an American in a heaveyweight match, why is this ****** talking aboutt Ricky Hatton again?) -Watt is either a/ punchy b/ an alcoholic c/ both Why does he drone on endlessly about the same insignificant point? I remember watching Taylor 'v' Ouma and Watt said 'Taylor should come forward agaisnt this smaller fellow' about 20 times, every round for the whole 12 rounds! He really is mute-worthy.
have to say, that while they do talk a lot of ****, itv's boxing team do know how to make the fights more exciting. i prefer listening to woodhall as a pundit, but duke mckenzie is great during the fights, and john rawling's a good main commentator(though did come across as a bit of **** on one of the fighting talk episodes i listened to).
